MP700 sent in for warranty ...
on: January 28, 2013, 10:24:48 AM
 ... eventually!  ::)

Another one of those little jobs that took a while for me to get round to. I was hoping to get a Strata back as this was the nearest tool in my mind (and said as much on the letter I sent in with it) but I got a MP400 back instead. Good turnaround time and no quibbles though  :tu:

Now I need to decide whether to do another "knifeless" mod as a spare, or ....  :think:

What!!

You sent in a MP700 and received a MP400 in return.

Well, I'd be none to pleased with that outcome, I tell ya!!
I agree with you AL, the Strata may well have been the closest model.
Still if you're happy with another 400 that's okay I guess.
Me!!...I'd have gone balistic!
I don't claim to know it all, but what I do know is right.

The Strata does have several tools and features that the MP700 doesn't have (saw, file, can opener, package opener), so I can understand if they felt that was an upgrade rather than a replacement. It was a bit of a disappointment to receive a MP400 though, so I might give them a ring about it

Did they send one with the new Blade? I just sent my MP400 in for work and am concerned I will get a new blade model.

Oh, I still have a couple of spares mate (plus a couple of "parts" donors too) so I'll still be enjoying the MP700  ;) Best thing to do on the 800 is give them a call at Silva in Scotland (UK agent)  :tu:

Silva in Scotland gave me very good quick service when I sent my Gerber Prodigy in to be replaced.
