World smallest primate

Tarzier is a nocturnal animal and eats only insects. This can only be found along the river bank of Loboc river in the island of Bohol, here in the Philippines. One of the endangered species...

...the tarzier I mean.

Great pics- I've been fascinated by tarzeirs (and other "exotic" animals) pretty well my whole life. Adorable little critters, even if it looks like Dunc decided to store a SwissTool in the back end of one!

No, it’s not in the zoo. It’s in a restaurant along the riverbank and near their natural habitat. That restaurant was encouraged and permitted by our Department of Tourism to display those tamed tarzier for tourists. They are nocturnal and we cannot see them in the wild especially during daytime.

The little gold one is a Pomeranian.

The black and white one is probably a mix, but could also be a setter, pointer or even a border collie.

In fact the house cats that become wild in the vicinity of tarziers habitat are their number one enemy. Tarziers are so small and fragile and the cats hunt them like they are mice.
