Is it possible to do a Vic Scissors mod on a LM Freestyle

Hi,
I wanted to know if anyone has tried to put victorinox scissors on to a Leatherman Freestyle, replacing the blade.

I would love to have a dedicated Pliers/Scissors tool.  Currently everything I've looked at has some drawbacks.  I love the JuiceS2, but hate the scissors on them.  I love the Vic Deluxe Tinker, but the pliers can be too small for some tasks.
I guess a compromise would be the SwissTool, but its a bit bulky, and I wont use all the tools on it.

I would ideally be pairing this with my Leatherman Crater C33tx for a rounded EDC combo.

Thanks !

That's a great idea - I'd probably do it on a Skeletool if possible, as I like the drivers :)

Likewise. I don't know why ppl give the Skeletool a hard time :)

Yes, I think it would look amazing on the Skeletool as well.   That could mean carring a dedicated blade with the Scissor/Skeletool.

I suggested the Freestyle because I just bought one and have recently gave away my skeletool :D .

I quite like it. I EDCd one for 2-3 years and didn't have any problems with it.

@35Studio

As you haven't been here that long I'm not sure you are familiar with the PROJECT SKELETOOL mod done by Evil510. That's the best incorporation of scissors on a Skeletool (among other things) ever done here. Worth a look. :tu:

There have been several attempts since but I can't remember the names of the threads now. I'll update if I do. Looking forward to see what you come up with if you do go forward with the mod. :salute:

Damn right.  Freestyle is junk w/o the drivers.

That's kind of how I see it, but I can't EDC the Skeletool due to the locking blade ::)

Scissors instead, would land it firmly in my pocket :tu:

So, who's doing this then? :D :pok:

Well ... the Freestyle/Skeletool aren't on my agenda, but the same mod on the Octane has been on the "To Do List" for a LONG time for the same reasons Nuphy mentioned - besides, I'm not a big fan of the Octane's blade anyway.

I much prefer the Octane to the Skeletool/Freestyle though

I actually got a X-Tract Essential to harvest the scissors from as the options for inexpensive liner locking scissors are thin on the ground, but they are huge in comparison with where they need to stow, plus the tang doesn't look too compatible (though that's just from looking at them in their complete state - not broke either down yet till I'm confident of a solution)

Any update to this? I would like to make my newly aquired freestyle more EDC friendly.

I have a Freestyle CX sitting around with its warranty already voided... if someone wants to send me a pair of 91mm Vic scissors, I'd be happy to give this a shot. :D
