well sorry to  reopen an old topic,
skrylev are surly the most prolific knife/multi-tool designer in russia ever, no doubt..
unfortunatly russian producers inabliity to produce a consistant product in a timly manner  cause some of his designs to have a negative reptuation,
ive owned a few of his designs from noks.
some are quite interesting and original.. others are not so interesting,
he had a specific style to his desings,

if hed been in the u.s.a. im sure he would be famous...

in the way of multi-tool design  he is definatly the king o f gadget/multifunction knife/tool items..
there is nobody else  you has designed so many multitool devices,
his gun multitools are also interesting,

most of his designs were really quite original,
unfortunatly he had many detractors in the russian internet forums, mostly due to his personality, not always the most polite guy. and approach to marketing his ideas.
he was sort of viewed as a russian lynn thompson in some ways..

im personally fond of his weird desings ,  fun interesting knives,  some are a bit akward and not that functional , but theyer original,
and some actually worked rather well.

unfortunate that  russia has no real comparison to skrylev in the area of knife desining,  and sadly he never got a chance to deal with international companies aspecially the u.s.a. to market and produce his goods,  would have been an interesting  business.

I know some of those designs- I love the Spetznaz machete. A shame we can't get more of his knives and tools in the West.

Igor Skryleva problems mainly related to the loss of high-tech production in Russia 90 - ies. Factories where he did his complex product required a lot of money and did not provide the desired quality. That drew criticism consumers who tied product problems personally with Igor.

Skrylev when he was alive, we are constantly rewritten. When I came to Moscow I always came to visit him. But now I can not understand who steers his firm, all attempts to establish a connection they do not respond. So I lost the opportunity to get direct feedback tool. Now probably only through the website of the company officially.  http://www.noksknives.ru/

January 3 turns 2 years Skryleva Igor's death. Unfortunately there are new circumstances. After the death of Skrylev, one of the employees of the firm, the firm awarded the NOKS. This happened because of all the documents confirming the fact that there Skrylev founder of the firm (or one of the founders), he kept on working. There they "disappeared." Skryleva relatives have not received the inheritance and the right to development. Now the company NOKS not decode its name (knives Skryleva design) and continues to use all his achievements. This story is very short of reality, perhaps it is not complete, I heard it in this form. I think to create bad publicity this company and ask to help.

I recently learned that Skrylev made knives for Russian cosmonauts. NK-1.
I found sketches and learned that it was an official assignment. knives were made really, I do not know. Also, until he found the use of the instructions and specifications of the blade
