Did a number on my Dragonfly clip.

I was walking by my couch and caught the clip on the corner. I have done it quite a few time before without any significant bending, but I guess I caught it just right this time.

Luckily I was able to bend it back. I removed it and my Spirit-x did the bending.  :tu:

That's pretty much what happened to the clip on my CRKT Tool.  I haven't bothered to bend it back though.

It's really annoying when that happens.

Me too. I might have to carry mine tomorrow. :D

I'm glad you managed to bend it back Captain. It didn't loose it's springiness, did it?

Cap, I'm pretty sure you can order new wire clips from Spyderco, and they're not too expensive; I think they're like, $5 ea. IIRC.  So, if you do have a mishap that permanently mangles it, getting a new one is really just a matter of patience.

As for myself, I love my little Dragonfly 2... It's not really mine anymore though.     I gave it to my wife for her lightweight backpacking gear.  I wish I had a picture of her face when she first picked it up... she was shocked how light it was...     It's one of the few pieces of kit I've given her that she speaks highly of.  Not that I've given her crappy stuff, but she's just not into this stuff the way we are...

As much as I love that little knife, I honestly don't come across cutting tasks on a daily basis that require a blade with the kind of capability a DF2 has.  99% of all the things I need to do can be done by a SAK, and I get a lot more utility overall with a SAK.  (I do carry my Stretch 2 in my EDC bag, but still, for me, pocket carrying a dedicated folder is overkill.  Still, I frequently find myself wishing I had that little guy back though...  Hm... maybe time to ad a Delica to my want-list?  :D

I had the same thing happen to a cell phone belt clip. The clip shattered though and I ended up replacing it with a Tek Lok clip.

That's good to know. I might have to pick up a few just in case. The Delica is a awesome knife. I say go for it.  :D

I've never been a fan of the wire clip. Its just not something I fancy.

How are you liking your DF cap? I remember you posting that the edge was a bit uneven when you got it?

I really like those clips for their stealth and low riding properties, but it's a shame they are a little vulnerable to getting bent :o
