Great! Does the SuperTimer have the Roman or Arabic numerals?

I think that was the more common watch for the SuperTimers.  Mine is like that too.

I suppose so. In another shop I noticed some Timekeepers, also with roman numerals. I haven't seen one with Arabic numerals.

All 3 of my Timekeepers came with Arabic numerals.

If some one is waiting to join the club there is a nice 1897 100yr Anniversary one with buy-it-now looking for a new owner.  Very reasonable too.

A picture from last summer: here it is helping me make a whistle.

Currently this is the SAK that sees most use, it lives on my belt most of the time :)

Hey all swisschamp owners!  :salute:

I am sure this has been debated before but gotta ask!

Which mag glass is preferred/better and why?  The old smaller glass one or the newer bigger plastic one?

Thx.

I like the old one, however the new one is much easier to use and is plenty powerful enough :)

The old one is sturdier and you feel safe because of that. The newer has a lower focal length and less perceived optical abberations. It provides a lower magnification but a greater field of view. It seems more fragile, although I never heard someone breaking his lens (if there is someone, please, inform us).
In everyday use the lower magnification and greater field of view is much more useful for me. if I recall right, it is 8x vs 5x or about.

For a long time a lot of folks seemed to prefer the older style, but I have to say for myself that it's the new all the way.  Yes, it's less magnification but it's also got a much better field of view, making it much easier to use.  Also the Phillips gets improved at the same time as the magnifier gets changed. :)

Shorter is an improvement

No, but the 'nub' that engages on the backspring was.  Much less likely to fold back on you in my experience. :)

Interesting, I've never tried the new mag/phillips.

You'll see (and feel) the same 'nub' engagement idea on the cap lifter/large screwdriver on modern SAKs.  Makes for a much more positive click when opened compared to the older version. :)
