Totally normal.  If it isn't, every SAK with the inline Phillips I've owned has had something wrong with it then......  ;)
There's no such thing as "Too pretty to carry".  There's only "Too pretty NOT to carry"...... >:D

It is because of the pivot form and the phillips acting like a lever - pressing on it will rotate the tool on it´s pin, pushing out the spring a bit.

Recently picked up this grey-handled Swiss Champ. It has a series of leaves on the handle. Originally thought they might be for Swiss Scouts, but they don't appear to be. Any ideas?

A few weeks ago I put some new ruby scales on my SC but just swaped them back for the old warn ones as it didn't look right, as my old sc is battled scared  and has dined liners that I've had to bend back into place.the new scales just didn't look  right. Also my sc is as smooth as a pebble from years of carry and use.

Knock, knock. Can I enter with my 1999-2005 model SwissChamp...

I also have an XLT but that's too big to use IMO but great for a fiddle.

Hmm ain't poked fun at our NZ friends in a while so I am going to say they prolly don't like Champs, or puppys.

Real question is SC or CT for the title of best big SAK?

Can't stand them!  They cost too much and take up too much space.  ::)

That could be true but I am pretty happy with my CT.

Not sure if the Saw and File are so needed for me.

So you do see a need for the fish scaler Harley?? !! :)  :o

I think the CT is a definite contender for best big SAK especially the big one - The CT driver itself if just so useful and replaces other tools that are not so useful on the SC.

I think Coloswiss is joking - But it's true!!!
Smaller SAK is much better for EDC imho.

Although I have just acquired my first SC - a lovely 25 yr old Hoffritz in near mint condition - and I am pretty pleased with it!! And of course it is, and always has been, the flagship of the Victorinox range.
Sorry guys, but to me, the larger ones are just silly - except as collectors pieces - and even then too expensive  :(

Anyway for a jeans / heavy shorts / weekend carry - I am definitely going to try an ED carry with my new SC!!

Must post pics so I can officially join the club

My only wish is that they would still sell the CT-41 in America.

I am trying to like it but the light on the CT-Lite is lame.

CT gets my vote for the most versatile EDC carry multi tool for the working man.  I'm a technical service tradesman, not an IT guy, and this tool is unbeatable.  A multi tool is never the tool of choice for heavy work, so for tasks in its weight class this tool is the most versatile, and best performing, MT I've  found in 20 years in the field.
