I just bought a MiniChmap and I must say I am thoroughly impressed with this little powerhouse of compact capability. Anyone else rock the MiniChamp?

Carry one every day, regardless of what else I'm carrying.

Don't get me wrong this isn't replacing my other MTs. I still rock my BO Wave on my belt and usually a full sized Spyderco in my pocket. This just replaced the little classic knife I had on my keys.

That's exactly what I plan on doing with this tool.

I have one permanently on my car's keyring. I carry it all the time. I think it is a great SAK. I particurarly adore the Warncliff blade.

I also have a Wenger Pocket Tool Chest MicroLight version which I like.  The MiniChamp gets the nod for me because of the Cut-and-Picker blade which is excellent for peeling oranges, of course.

Mr.Kkokkolis, where did you get the small vic leather sheath, the item number? It's a nice little pouch for the minichamp on a keyring! :)

I bought the Minichamp with its own seath, a beautiful miniature of the 91mm seath. But it was made for a belt, not a keyring. So I bought a keyring seath, originaly made for Minichamp Lite models (you can see the hole for the light that can be used without removing it) from here http://www.actionitems.gr/%CE%98%CE%AE%CE%BA%CE%B5%CF%82-%CE%91%CE%BE%CE%B5%CF%83%CE%BF%CF%85%CE%AC%CF%81/Victorinox-%CE%B8%CE%AE%CE%BA%CE%B7-%CE%BC%CE%B1%CF%8D%CF%81%CE%B7-Minichamp-Lite-40515.html
It is the Pouch No 4.0515 http://www.swiss-knife.com/asp/detail.asp?lan=EN&code=4.0515&shop=SK
My other seath is the No 4.0518XL

The little monster saved my right index finger today.

I bought recently a Minichamp to complement the Explorer in my EDC. I find it a bit thick for its size but other than that it is a great mini tool. I am enjoying the fact that it is more viewer friendly than the bigger knife. People sometimes look at the Explorer as a weapon, but that never happens with the Minichamp. So I tend to use the Minichamp where it fits.

I am curious about the Warncliff blade. What do you like in it? How do you use it? Why is it better than the standard blade?

The way it is pointed (like a shallow pruning blade) makes it a great letter and box opener and also string and tape cutter. This is an everyday job for me. The fact is that since I paired the Minichamp with a Ladybug I use it less, because the Ladybug is always in the open (the minichamp stays in its pouch) and it is more convenient to open it one handed, do the job and then close it back one handed. I took the idea from the Spydercollector blog and it works great, since Ladybug's blade is more substancial and easier to open. Only the picture with the blue-purple pair is mine, the others come from the Spydercollector.

I have been using the Warncliff blade open letters and boxes also. But I am a little concerned that opening boxes may leave that blade dull in no time. What's your experience about it?

No problem so far. "No time" surely not, I'll answer again in a couple of years.

The collection isn't mine as I already said, unfortunately. See here

I love the MiniChamp and carried one with SilverTech scales for a couple years or so.  I really like the Alox version because i carry separate tweezers on my keychain and I never use the toothpick. I have a small collection of MiniChamps.

I wish they would put the ruler and the nail file and made that SD tip, and replaced the ruler/SD tool with an eyeglass screwdriver.  The MiniChamp needs an eyeglass screwdriver.

However; just switched my keychain MiniChamp to a Vagabond because while all the tools are useful for different things (maybe not their intended usage) I like the more minimal toolset of the Vagabond as I usually carry other tools as well.

I must say a Wenger Pocket Tool Chest is also a great model. I think I'd be happy with any one of those with metal handles on my keychain.  I've almost switched to it a few times, but now I've got a metal handled Vagabond so I stopped thinking about that; I think I'm set with my keychain model for a few years.

Always, always, always have my MiniChamp and Fenix E05 combo in my front left pocket.

The older models, with the toothpick and tweezers. To me, that little pen is less than useless. I've used the toothpick and tweezers for lots of little things.

I've actually purchased extra scales and parts so if I get a good deal on a model with the pen I can swap scales. :)
