I think that this question was discussed before, but i believe that it worth to
see some photos of your Holy Grail of Sak's.

I will start with two SAK's that i will probably never acquire them.

The first is the Master Craftsman.

And the second is the Swiss Champ with engraved silver handles that Victorinox did for their centennial.

Mine would be any two of several dozen pre-WWII Victorinox. I have never seen photos of any of these knives, only line drawings in old catalogs, such as the 'Cure-pied'.

For me, collectable is the Special Mechanic...I've got the Radio Shack edition, wouldn't mind having the Bindezangen version.

Coveted...I'd say '83 Soldiers/SIs. Thankfully I already have both  :P

Yeah, this has my vote too! :D

Wonder if he signed any saks for charity or other promotional deals!

For me it is definitely the Yeoman.  For a second sought after SAK, it would probably be any of the following:  '78, '88 or '00 SI/Soldier.

There are at least 2 Yeomen on eBay right now

For me it's that alox Master Craftsman that Marios mentioned. And maybe a blue Fisherman's knife.

  • Not all those who wander are lost.
As it stands, there really only is one: Wenger EvoWood S 557.

Only other would be a 1961 Issued Wenger Standard Issue, if a true 1961 - the year of my birth.

  • In a world of compromise, some don't.
That's really hard to pick just two.  :-\

But these two are now top of my wanted list.
Should hopefully have them both later this year.  :salute:
Totally unique and a real work of art.
And very expensive.  :ahhh

  Attractive, too ritzy for my blood. That's up there with those of the Argentum Leatherman Collection made by Adrian Pallarols.

The shield came off. Ask jazzbass, it's his SAK :)

I actually saw one that's still there yesterday.  There's still a few days left on the bidding however, and our baby is due to come at any day now.  So I would probably miss out on it, and I don't really have the money to spare right now anyway :(  Oh well, I will keep my eye out and eventually I will be able to get one (I hope )

The ones I want probably arent the most expensive or rare, but definitely not common.  I still want a sea pioneer 2223.

Lovely work of art. Totally wasted on me though - it'd be like giving a pig a strawberry

For me, my 1962 Soldier is in the top two or three.

I don't carry it often because if I lost it, I'm not sure what I'd do... :ahhh :ahhh

Second one for me please the "horseshoe nail knife":

That Horse-shoe Knife looks interesting, but I'm wondering how rust-resistant the handles are. Anyone heard anything?

What are the scales made of?  That doesn't look like a typical steel horseshoe (which do rust).

  • I may get older but I refuse to grow up.
If I remember correctly they were made as a part of a clothing line Vic was making in 2011.

EDIT: Found this video of it.

The scales are made of horse shoe nails ... which also do rust. But they don't if they are in a glas cabinet  :D

The nails will corrode to a grey color but they won't turn rusty red

Quite possibly the ones in both Victorinox and Wengers prototype drawers
I don't claim to know it all, but what I do know is right.
