How to fix Victorinox warped scales?
on: February 23, 2013, 11:58:41 AM
Recently, I purchased a 91mm hunstman and 84mm tourist from ebay....
I dunked them in hot water and when they cooled, the plastic scales warped.

Will it be possible to repair this? I'm thinking of using large binder clips to keep them straight then I will soak them in hot water, hopefully, when it cools it will still be straight....

Do you think this will work?

:( :( :(

wow, must have been more like boiling than just hot...

but yes, if you heat them up again and hold them flat somehow while they cool, they should end up straight again.

A dishwasher also gets hot enough to warp scales.
