Nice to see at least one US member has received their order. I just received an ebay knife from Switzerland that took 5 weeks to get here. Was sitting in Nashua, NH for at least 10 days.

I was actually surprised. My mail is usually slow. I have a red Farmer coming from across the pond. I hope it arrives as quickly. Sorry to hear about your delay, Colo. I don't understand how it works sometimes.

I've had some stuff from Europe show up in less than a week. Other stuff has taken six weeks. Some of it has to do with how it was shipped (registered takes longer). Sometimes I think the PO or Customs is sitting on stuff for some obscure security reason. So far I've been lucky and only had two items not show up at all (both domestic and both made good).

Enjoy your new toy!  :tu:

From my experience (more than 10 years of shipments from the USA) I can tell you that despite some assassine story about "how it is difficult to ship to Italy" that you can usually find on the web, I had only once a package not showing up (and I suspect it was never shipped).
Having a package lost is very unlikely.
The transit time, however, can take a lot (I experienced two months transit time last December).
Usually shipments from the USA arrive in Italy in 5-7 days, THEN they are hold by the italian customs for weeks.
It doesn't matter at all if they are First Class or Priority Mail. Only Express Mail is faster.

These knives are sparking a lot of pictures for a change.  :D   Must be all the excitement of finding these gems and then actually being able to order them so easily.

Mine are at my post office.  Only 6 days into the month though and I'm already over twice my budget.  This year is starting out "EXPENSIVE".

That was me, if they had only one of those. After I purchased it kept showing up as available on the site for several days. So maybe it was not the only one.  But I am still waiting for the package (the first and only one so far) to arrive..  :(

My cadets arrived last weekend. Trouble is: they are at my office while I am at home with a serious flu. Double frustrating!

While the rest of you were fooling around with alox from 'The Good Stuff', I went for the REALLY good stuff - stainless steel. :D

Wenger PocketGrip 799 with 'coffin' stainless steel handles.

Thanks Per for the great service!

I'm not a big fan of Heavy Metal, but when it's solid Stainless it's music to my ears.  I think I have a used one of those. I do like many parts of these Mini/Pocket grips that Wenger did; After I got my first one I had to hunt down the other models.

I was very happy to pick up the Ranger 13 along with my Alox.  It's not quite a s good as I thought because I forgot that model has the opener layer so it's not quite as slim as I had hoped. Still I'm happy to finally have on in my pocket (figuratively), and I'm hunting again.

Of course I had to take a look at those alox knives after reading this topic...
Some of those gift sets look very tempting
But, I managed to stop shopping after ordering "just an ordinary" black cadet :gimme:

We'll see how this transaction goes (thinking about customs and the local post office), and maybe I'll check in later to see if there's, say, an orange cadet (or another nice color) left? :)

The story behind this range of coloured alox models is one of frustration : In DK we have a very strict weapon law. The maximum size of knife that one is allowed to carry is a 91 mm SAK witout a locking blad. Many of the Victorinox novelties are directed towards the big countries/ markets. Thus a lot of one-hand opening knives  ( forbidden in DK) and lock blade knives (forbidden in DK) are among the new products launched by Victorinox. We got fed up watching novelties that could never reach the DK users , so we decided to  have Victorinox produce a small range for us in DK. Being just around 5,5 mill people here, we are painfully aware that Victorinox  themselves are never going to develop anything  for DK especially. These models will stay in our DK range but the packaging will change to that of the 'normal' silver boxing. Thanks to all of you guys who, like myself, are fond of the alox versions of the Victorinox models, and have written such nice comments about  them.  I so hope that we will one day be able to persuade Victorinox to make the 91 SAK with alox handles too. I would just love to carry Climber and Huntsman with alox handles.  Best regards from Hanne ( Victorinox Denmark)
