The Artisan is also known as a small Fieldmaster, and as the name implies, this knife is basically an 84mm version of the Fieldmaster, sporting the same array of tools. I was fortunate enough to acquire two of these very useful SAKs for my collection.

There are a few differences between the two models I have.

The smaller blade on one is the older clip point.

The scissors and saw are reversed between the two.

One has a file on the phillips screwdriver, the other is the slotted screwdriver.

One model has the tweezers with a metal end.

All in all, a handy addition to the pocket and an interesting knife to go into the collection.

Nice Artisans.  :like:  There may be more differences than you noticed. You should look at the following thread:

Very nice.  Definitely looks like a handy knife.  The file on the phillips is something I never knew existed.

I love mine. At first, I was excited because it was an 84mm with scissors, that also had a lot of tools. Someone had attempted to repair the scissors (which of course, use a screw) by crudely smashing some brass rod into it, and the spring was broke.   Sent it off to Vic, who put new scissors and a large blade (old one was just scratched heavily).   A great weight reduction from a Fieldmaster, no lanyard ring (unlike a lot of people who simply cut them off, I look for variations of the model without the ring), and none of the Wenger stuff.

And all three features that, in use, that I love to have that newer ones don't--file on Philllips; scraper on bottle opener, clip point pen blade. Victorinox was able to retain the pen blade, and it's owner marking of "SANTOS".

In comparison with my childhood Fieldmaster.
