black pst id numbers dont make since

Just answered my own question.
it is late 80's befor. date codes were used.

I'm assuming that number is on the outside of the handles. That is the trademark number for the design. The manufacturing date code should a four digit number stamped INSIDE of the handles. You'll have to fold out the tools in order to see it.
