Hello to all... I have been browsing these forums for quite a while and finally registered in January to ask a questions. Although I am a collector at heart, the few multitools and SAKs and flashlights that I have accumulated have been more about finding the best EDC soltuion for me than about collecting.
A brief history...
I got a Leatherman Micra in 1998 for a gift from my girlfriend (now wife) and it was replaced by an orange Juice S2 in 2001, another gift from her (fiance by this time). I carried, used and abused the Juice everyday for about 8 years. the pliers was twisted a bit, the scissors nicked up, the knife dull and all flat screwdrivers had at least one corner broken off. I set it aside and decided to downsize to a Squirt P4 and I carried that for a couple of years. I always like the quality of Leatherman, but somewhere in the last year or so the Victorinox SAK took over.
(A side note - I did send the Juice back to Leatherman last year as well as my Micra. The Micra was repaired as requested, and the Juice was replaced. The new Juice didn't seem as nice, the scales are thinner and the edges were sharp. It hurt my hands.)
I got a Climber as a gift for being an usher in a wedding (sometime before 2005) and never used it until a year or so ago. It felt nice in my pocket, but lacked some tools. The quest began.
