Hi all.
A couple of weeks ago I got myself a new Mora 2000 in "neverlost" orange. As my first Mora, I'm highly impressed with the knife and its light weight. It's now living on my regular survival/hiking pack. I had been using my BK14 on that pack, and since the Mora displaced it, I wanted to turn my BK14 back into a neck/survival knife. Here is what I've got so far.
To attach the knife to the Skinth, I made a couple of ranger bands out of an old bike inner tube. (When I ordered my SP from Eric, I got the molle strap option.) I also put the TDI clip for the sheath on, so if I end up using the cordage in the field, I can still carry the whole kit on my belt if need be.
Here's the contents of the kit so far.
-BK14 with handle scales
-Quark Mini AA with extra battery
-Victorinox Compact with Fox40 whistle connected via a size 0 s-biner
-Exotac Nano-Striker firesteel and striker
-30 ft. of paracord in the neck strap
Not much yet, and I don't intend to load it up with a bunch of stuff, so I'm trying to be very deliberate about what else to add to it. Other than a small notepad and pencil, (which I can use together for writing, or individually as tinder), I'm not sure what else to put in it.
In short, still very much a work in progress, but will definitely be smaller and easier to carry than my larger survival/hydration kit.
