hi steve! i think its practice, i use 1/2 sanding drums for dremel, and finish with 400 grit sand paper

That's just really nice!¡!

I'm thinking of trying my hand at some filework. What would you recommend for a beginner? I know I need files but I'm not sure what to get :think: I'm going to look on YouTube to see if there are tutorials (that's where I learn just about everything these days) that can get me started.

Ya that sheath is pretty sweet.   :tu:  I bought some clear kydex to make a necksheath for a alox custom but never got around to using it.

Yes they are the same, but there are minor changes between old and new springs.
