Hi folks, joined here a few weeks back but just to say a proper hello and share my very modest collection.  Like any regular bloke I love gadgets and tools and the odd bit of outdoors/bushcraft where I can which myself and my 10 year old son are gradually learning.

A few words on the tools in kind of chronological order:  the first one I ever owned is the standard WW2 British Army jack knife given to me by my grandad (WW2 veteran) around 1978 - like most kids then I was bought up on a diet of Saturday morning westerns and cowboy shows hence this suffered for years in the garden as I practised 'throwing knives'...

The little SAK was a birthday present from a long lost girlfriend.  The Champ was bought in Davos, Switzerland around 1994, the Swisstool again in Switzerland (Zermatt) when they first came out (about 10 years ago?).  The others are far more recent - the Buck is really kept as an emergency knife on our small dinghy.  Then I got into Leathemans, the Wave (this is a brand new one) was a warranty replacement for a 2006 model.

The little Micras (I also have a blue painted one) were recent purchases from eBay USA - silly cheap, I love these tools.  The Squirt PS4 also came from USA but new - here in the UK prices are always £'s for $'s so 50% higher generally.  The Skeletool is very recent - I really know why people enthuse about this particular LM, quality, fit, feel is exemplerary.

Exception to this pricing is the Hultafors GK - not strictly a 'multitool' of course but it is one really in terms of what you can do with it in the woods - unbelievable value at £6 for a brand new Swedish made virtually unbreakable general bushcraft knife - nothing compares.

Lastly the MUT - always wanted one, got it last week brand new but for me it's nice but not one to keep.  (If anyone in the UK is interested in a purchase please let me know.  :) )

That's about it - don't plan to buy any others and please don't ask me which one I'd keep if I could only have one* - love them all.  *ahhh, OK then  :D - probably be the SAK Champ - most used item on all the tools I have is the magnifying glass believe it or not.  But then there is the 'Rolls Royce' quality Swisstool, but no scissors so has to be the Wave, but then....aybe....you know how it is!   ;)

Thanks all - no more info really but it's the standard issue jack knife with spike, blade and tin opener and dated 1944 with crow's foot but this pattern was in use by the British Army and Commonwealth virtually unchanged since before the Great War and well beyond WW2 - you could buy them for under £10 in the UK but probably more now, millions were around!   I can post some more pics if anyone wants?

We want  :salute:.
- Or was I too preoccupied with other thoughts, like: if toast always lands jam side down, and a cat always lands on its feet, what happens when you strap a piece of toast, jam side up, to the back of a cat?

Here we go - basic old tool but all a soldier needs I guess.  Not much of an edge on this thing anymore.  Date is 1941 not '44 as I posted.
