New York residents, please help
on: April 21, 2013, 10:28:56 PM
This belongs to the tools forum perhaps but it is a specific professional tool and not a multitool, so I put it here.

Some years ago I bought from Manhattan NY the pictured pill crasher.
I run an opioid substitution treatment unit and we crush Buprenorphine pills all day long. We tried all available pill crushers, all of them Chinese made and break away after a few months. The two I bought still work after 4 years but I need to buy some more.

My daughter is going to visit the Big Apple in May. I told her to buy them for me. She was with me then and knows what I want. But I don't exactly remember where I found it. It was a big multi store, perhaps Wallmart.

If somebody has spotted this item, please, tell me the place with exact address, preferably in mid and South Manhattan.

Thank you very much.

This will probably sound stupid, but what about a garlic press if you can't find this? The good quality all metal type can handle it very easily, I just tested mine on a calcium pill.

Or if you really have a ton, coffee grinder.

A garlic press isn't much controllable. And the nurses set the specifications, not me. This tool is tested under heavy use and helps them control their strength without much tension on their wrists and less risk for carpal tunnel syndrome. They are delicate girls, 45-50 kgrs each and not very muscular.
But I might test a metal garlic crusher with a long lever if my daughter can't find what I look for.
