I have found an excellent clip for my Swisstool Spirit X.

The Nite Ize HipClip

I think it looks nicer than the eclipse

Let me know what you think. They are a little pricey at $17 for 2 with shipping. It comes with 3M VHB Tape and alcohol pad to install with.

The grip feels normal because it fits the frame perfectly. It carries low in the pocket and looks good with dress pants. It is also longer than the eclipse so it feels like it won't roll out of pocket as easy. I did not use the provided 3m tape though o used their new clear VHB tape.

Apologies for resurrecting this but I'm curious as how the tape have held up over the years?  ???

Don't. Necro thread is great. We get to see lots of stuff we'd never see otherwise. This is a good one. I've tried to get some similar clips for Alox SAKs but had no luck. Only through the interwebs and I'd rather avoid that...

Thanks for the replies, Poncho and Mechanikal. I've been asking around the Nite Ize retailers here if they carry this item; unfortunately they don't and instead sell the Eclipse, which is plastic and for phones. I guess the only option is ebay and I really don't want to go thru this route.


Ive done some research on the VHB tape and found out that they use this for high rise buildings! If its good enough for such use, then I think it will stick long term  :tu:

They have the metal clip on Amazon, but I'm not sure where you'd find one that won't cost a fortune to ship to Philippines. Good luck in your search  :salute:

I use a suspension clip on 91mm SAKs. And with some pants I can even use it on a 111mm. I would guess the main  advantage the Nite Ize clip has over a suspension clip is there's nothing dangling off the end to potentially get in the way when you're using some implements. I rarely have that issue with mine, but your mileage may vary.

I think trying out the suspension clip option first is more economical since those clips are available locally :)
