Has a test-to-destruction been done on the 58mm tools like when Mr.Whippy tested the 91mm bottle opener?
http://forum.multitool.org/index.php?topic=22565.0

Or the backside philips?
http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,22526.0.html

Are there any posts with broken 58mm tools?  :o

As many threads and posts in the Swiss Forum I am sure you will find plenty of stuff like that but you might have to really go digging :D Sometimes I just go through the list of pages and click random numbers and then open up several of the old threads just to see what I can find  That's why I bring old threads back sometimes :D
Will do!
Hooked, like everyone else. ;)

All hail the hook!

Some of the really old threads are just plain hilarious  That's one of the main reason I dig back in them :D Some of the info is just a great side effect ;) :like:

This nice (rare?) little 58mm Princess came in the mail this week :like:

I was actually bidding on a Classic with US Embassy logo, and this came with it as a "bonus" 8)

Nice bonus glen!

I'll add my 58mm to the thread.  I'm unsure if the case is original to the knife, but it came with it and fits perfectly:

I was struck by the close-up of "Victoria" and the umbrella.  I grabbed one of my assortment of classic SD SAKs and saw "Victorinox Swiss Made Stainless".  I haven't checked SAKWiki yet but it would seem that you have an early version of the classic.  Can you enlighten me?

Thank you!

Thank you NorCal, sadly I don't know much about this knife as I usually buy 91mm and 84mm sizes, but I liked the case that it came in, so that's why I bought it.

These red lined black leather pouches exist in a number of sizes, for most Victorinox pocket knives. I have several. They have disappeared from the Victorinox website not very long ago.

Man that is a beautifull thing right there. That princess is exactly like the one my grandpa had (70's one, i think) with the old style nail file and silver inlay shield, that little knife right there is the responsible for my love for SAK's and Victorinox. That and Macgyver of course  :D
I remember always anoing my grandpa to let me play with it, all the time...
I wish one day i came across one like it in good condition

Keep looking you can find them.  I know how you feel because a lot of memories happen for me every time I see a Camper with Teepee logo.  :tu:

That's a very nice case for the 58mm. Is it made for Victorinox?

I bought this one yesterday, it is in route.  Keeping fingers crossed that it is genuine.  I've never seen them in plastic wrap, so that worries me.

That's a real beauty Lisa!  I've never seen one with exposed rivets either.  That cross sure looks authentic.

Arrived, and looks good.  I had to take that cellophane off, it was getting stuck to the scales.

Here it is with another 58mm, the Rambler:
