The quality of fight choreography has VASTLY improved this season, bringing us some excellent slug fests.

But I think the Brienne vs. Hound fight was f'ing epic. Somehow more awesome than Viper v Mountain.

I'm also really kind of feeling icky about how Arya's path is turning.

Also... I think I should note that the spoiler function doesn't work in Tapatalk. I found that out this afternoon. :/

Im wondering if the books and shows are pretty much in line with each other.  Im most of the way through the first book now and its pretty much exactly as portrayed in the show.

NO! they change a lot as you read on...big time, but most I can understand for time constrictions and TV formulas (like more love/romance) but as you read you will see how much is changed.

Yes, this is true, which is why I avoid this thread and similar ones with spoilers until I am caught up. It's an addon in SMF, which explains why tapatalk doesn't support it.

Sweet!

Ive since read all the books, and this season is going to end up where the last book did... so the author better get on writing more or they wont have material for next years show!

They are going off book using information from conversations with the author.

Now I don't want to see them. I'll have to wait over a month then to see the next ones. ;) Better then to wait till the whole season is over and binge. :P

Episode 4 ends on a real cliffhanger..

I did like the tiny changes.. not only the guy who dies, but the little stories that were added...  with Ramsay skinning that nobleman and his family and with the story of how Shireen contracted Greyscale....

Also they removed all the unnecessary princes, may they be called Targaryen, Greyjoy or Martell as well as silly zombie redhead-noblewomen or pig-riding-she-midgets...

The season is sooo far away from the books already...
Corwyn of Multitool, the First of His name, King of Victorinox, King of Leatherman, Gerber and the First Generation SOG, Lord of the Seven Wrenches, Protector of the Forum, Khal of the Bushes, called Corwyn Toolborn, the Unsharpened, Father of SAKs.

I have the books but have not read them..

I do not want t be one of those complaining "it was not like that in the book"  and just want to enjoy what I am watching

what I did notice was that there were a lot less "proper" sex or sex scenes than in the previous seasons (OK, there was a "manly" scene). Several female actors that have exposed themselves a lot previously have now gone all shy.  Maybe the age rating for this season is lower too.

I love this show and the books. I have only seen the first episode of the 5° season so I'm wondering how much is going to change from the books.
I wonder if the book is going in a way and the show in another, that could be interesting, confusing and epic or awful.  I cant wait to GRRM to finish the books.

I'm beginning to go off the series as a whole.

I'm watching, but not as bothered about each new episode as I am with Vikings (currently on seasonal break)

Well, there were quite a lot of boobs to be seen :) I think I'll have to watch the scene with Tyene and Bronn again
And of course there was that scene where Melisandre tried to seduce Jon. Somehow Carice van Houten (the Dutch actress who portrays Melisandre) always has trouble keeping her clothes on

Emilia Clarke won't play any adult scenes anymore.

I was reading about it... she worries that she will be typecast, now..   It does not matter if there are 2 nude pictures/scenes of you or 100- with google they will always be available to everybody.

shame as she is quite pleasant.....

I also think that one of the issues is that they have slowly managed to kill off most of the interesting characters (and known actors).

There is no really strong/violent/interesting/sexy storyline in progress currently, though this may change soon.

I think they need Xena to come in

do they have to kill everyone?! but...I suspect (my own reasoning/guessing) next year they will bring back Jon Snow because he is so important to the series by your witch/Melisandre. She is nearby

NO spoilers in this post.

For posterity, this post is made the day after the last episode of season 5 aired.

The fandom is absolutely losing their smurf.

One comment I read was someone bemoaning that 'evil is going unpunished while good characters die'.

Apparently, the commenter hasn't read any history.

If the show really is supposed to go 7 seasons, then we are just into 'act three'. This should be the point where the heroes are facing their worst crises. Even setting aside the possibly false conclusion that 'the good guys should win', this should be the point where things seem most bleak.

Still, watching fans losing it is, at least to me, hilarious.

I've never quite understood why people think the story has to end a specific way, bad guys losing, triumph of good over evil, etc...
