Watched the opener last night and...........

No Spoilers from me!

I was under the impression though that all episodes of this "Last Season" were going to be like full length feature films and sadly the opener was an hour long like is standard?

Sort of Bittersweet overall to me.
Glad it is back but already sad it will be over so soon and certainly not worth the wait either.

Overall just a lot of reunions and some odd reactions from some characters who I thought were old friends seeing each other again to me.

And Brandon just creeps me out too.

It seemed like there was a lot of tying loose ends but I think that will allow the next episode(s) to run more freely.

I'm just glad it wasn't the "leaked script" I'd been reading, it was garbage.  A lot of pieces were put in play, Jon Snow is already a dragon riding master and a new conflict introduced when Sam shares the big news that Jon is, in fact, Keanu Reeves.   Too bad about the young Umber, he deserved better.    Lot's of comic relief in this episode.  Over awl, I give it a "Show me the next Episode"

Very much a "putting all the pieces in place" episode.  Not bad at all, but not a lot of progress in terms of story as far as I could see (other than Sam's news for Jon).  Great to see Bron back in play IMO, I wasn't sure we were going to see him any more.

You know Bron's just going to pull a Steve Miller and take the money and run..

OK I could have done without seeing Arya Side Boob ,anyone else?!

I also am now sure that I think they are just dragging this entire thing out and these 2 episodes are sure not up to the standard set by what came before as far as I am concerned. :dunno:

That was a bit uncomfortable... unless she is older than I think.  :dunno:

A bit early in the season for the big showdown, perhaps the White Walkers will decide to give Winterfell a miss?

I feel betrayed.

Also here in the U.S. the last weeks episode runs before the new one and that way in between the two while you are dying to see the new episode they can run an uninterrupted stream of commercials for other HBO crap over and over and over and over and over,I thought it would never stop last night!?
Seriously I kept looking at my watch as it seemed like another 20 minutes of commercials?

And then 52 more minutes of fluff GOT.

Yes, they are outside Winterfell, but haven't attacked it yet... but yeah they probably will. It was just a thought that there's an opportunity for them to do something unexpected as a plot twist.

I thought it was quite a tense episode.... on the whole I enjoyed it.

I found episode 2 very satisfying.  It was about the characters and their relationships, and after awl, isn't that what storytelling is about?   I think they pulled off shooting an entire episode in one location extraordinarily well and can't seem to remember another episode where that was the case.  This episode forces the viewer to look back at the past in contrast to present circumstances.  For example, Jaime's many dynamic relationships with Tyrion, Brienne, Bran, Cersei or Theon's evolution as a character, the 3 remaining Night's Watchmen...   I think a story of this magnitude needs to pay respects to the characters and acknowledge the journey that has taken place, just like any good book would.  It can't be straight battle for 6 episodes... and now we have the arrival of the White Walkers at Winterfell, I'm stoked.
