Also I heard a story about many people naming their Babies after characters on the show and many have been named Khalesi!

Maybe should have waited until this was all over, don't you think?!

I knew a crazy'ish lady who named one of here cats Khalesi.......this was long before the TV show

I think Dany will have to give up her life for John Snow and let him be king.

I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. I think the outcome was probably the best it could be, without being too predictable (although I had heard the notion of Bran becoming king somewhere online).
They missed a few bits out deliberately, I'm not sure if including them would have been good or just dragged the story unnecessarily (such as the discovery of Dany's death / Jon getting taken prisoner).
A shame Grey Worm didn't die. >:D

broadly the final episode played out the way I thought it would, but I wasn't at all expecting the choice of King!

What I do think is creepy is the fact Bran knew this is what was going to be all along, meaning that all the plotting, twists and turns were made so as he could be king.  They can say "he doesn't want it" all day long but the line "why do you think I came here?" rather gives lie to that statement.

Yeah I was sort of torn between what you suggest and him maybe just trying to be funny which would be completely foreign to us too.

What a creepy King!

It turned out that Drogon was the character with the most common sense in the entire show in the end too.

I feel cheated really by the whole thing because of how terrible and Cliche this entire last season has been and I sort of wish that I had never stated watching in the first place.

On the other hand we see Roz naked in the 1st episode and I am not trying to kid anyone but that kept me coming back for a while too! :dunno:

I am Cheap maybe but also Consistent! :hatsoff:

Well it's all over now.

The long night was far too dark (lighting wise) imho.

Am I the only one that feels like they dragged it out a few EPs when it could have all ended sooner?

The difficult we do immediately, the impossible takes a little longer.

It's funny hearing different people complain about Season 8... I'm hearing completely different opinions about different episodes.
Eg: first I was hearing some say Episodes 1 and 2 were boring but Episode 3 was better, now I am hearing some say 1 and 2 were good but they didn't like Episode 3.

I spent the first 30 minutes thinking Stephen King wrote that episode, IMO a great story teller that doesn't know how to write an ending  JMO

I'm sort of satisfied by how things turned out, the unwilling king, we need some of those.

Funny you mention that. After viewing the last episode my first thought was about Stephen Kings’ The Stand. Building up the whole story, meticulously bringing all the characters to life, and then the whole thing ends in just a few hasty pages.

I am calling B.S. on this idea though.
Do we even know if Bran is a Human still?
It is not difficult to make a case for him steering every thing that happens leading up to his taking the Throne/Puddle by the few times he actually says anything to anyone and essentially he knows in advance what will happen and/or what he says will happen.

I think I would rather have Drogon on the throne at least he makes things happen directly!

So add to this the fact that most of what the series used 7 seasons to foreshadow & setup seems entirely abandoned in this last season and we are simply introduced to situations, characters and events that we have zero or almost no reason to expect or accept at face value in any way?
I am not talking about surprises or tricks here either but entire character and plot reversals that we have no idea where they originate?

Stuff 'n Things just made no sense?

Anyway I was really excited before the season started but then in short order it became clear that there was little attempt going to made to continue to finish a story that we have all become fixated on but instead that driven by source material conceived from thin air by people other than Martin we would be forced to accept nonsense and shortcuts with few mysteries answered or played out that I think we all had good reason to expect would be.

So regardless how I feel about any single episode or incident that took place,I do feel screwed in the end by the way things were played out.

And yeah I even started watching the Finale again last night too?

Its like I cant live with it and I cant live without it.

Hmmm... very jarring scene cut to the council of lords, that. Why are Jon and Tyrion still alive? Grey worm wasn't holding back on his killing spree just before the heat came on ???

And many more puzzling bits...
Cheers!

Just look how excited they got you, they must have done something right

You might be right on all points you raised, but this is a story on such a scale I'm guessing it couldn't go on forever.

Never have and probably never will read the books, but I guess they could've worked in another season before ending it.......

I liked the scene where Ghost lifts his leg on King Bran's wheelchair.

I also liked the scene where Drogon dunks Daenerys' carcass in a vat of barbeque sauce before he eats her.

Maybe this was the director's cut?

Yeah. They should've used an axe, like in the book, not a sword. I lost interest right then and there.
