Interesting indeed. Leatherman moved the Kick, Fuse, and Blast into the "Retired Products" section of their website in late 2011, so that is what we based their retirement date on in this timeline. However, given the 1212 dates on Detron's handles, it is clear they were still producing tools throughout the entire year of 2012. Hmm, perhaps they were still fulfilling orders, even though the tools themselves were no longer listed as "current" on their website? ???

In any case, I have updated the Timeline in the first post of this thread based on this new info. Thanks Detron! :)

thank you for all you have given to MTO and to our and My education of Multitools!

Hi, I'm sort of new to the LM world and I was considering picking up a Wave to replace my lost Wingman. I always check camelx3 to suss out price history & check for sale patterns when I noticed the massive price rise in early 2014(?), can anyone explain this to me?http://camelcamelcamel.com/Leatherman-830039-Multitool-Leather-Combination/product/B0002H49BC

Looks like the average price was sitting around the $60 mark for years but then jumped to around $90. I tried searching the forums & Google in general but can't find any relevant discussion. I hope this is a suitable place to ask, I didn't think it really required it's own thread.

The very small Leatherman Style is now listed at their site as "discontinued". Does anyone know in what year was its last production? I already have one, I just want to know what year they stopped.

Hey LM fans and experts,

Does anyone know please when in 2001 the Juices first became available
ie What date codes?

I have a 0601/0701 and was wondering how close to first production this tool is !!

Or put another way - What's your earliest dated Juice?

I am guessing they were announced at Shot - which is January? Was it going back then?
But probably became available mid year? That is what usually seems to happen.
I guess they could have been manufactured (and date coded?) throughout the year??

Thanks guys

Edit: Oops - Dates corrected - Thanks Poncho for spotting the typo/error

That datecode is at least 10 years into the production of the Juice  :D I am guessing you mean 0601/0701 ;) if so then yeah that is fairly early but how early I am not sure :tu:

- Pre-Production Juices don't have date codes. Instead stamps on side faces of handles and cast on pliers head they have etched inscriptions. Also they have two (not three) back springs for slotted screwdrivers. Colors (not storm gray) only.

- First production Juices have date codes, stamps and cast inscriptions and two back springs. Colors only. Earliest date codes (that I have) 0401.

- Standard production Juices have date codes, stamps and cast inscriptions and three back springs. Colors and storm gray. Earliest date codes (that I have) on colored 0601, on storm gray 0102.
