Attached is a pic of the one I have carried as long as I can remember and it doesn't fit all the criteria of the timeline. No markings except the TM. Can you tell me how old it is? Is it worth anything? Is it a rare unit?

Hi and welcome to the forum

Check it against the PST chronology thread, first page. It's most likely an early 90's model. Hard to tell from your lo res picture. Have you checked the inside of the handles for a date code ?

Alright you updated the list cool thanks man :multi:
there is an attachment that was made around the time of the St 200. I think it's the only attachment before a whole bunch of accessories and bits were introduced. I forgot the name of it but I remember how hard it was to put the c-clip in the top. It could swivel 45 degrees and 90. It was a plate that would fit between your jaw when you pull the handles apart, U can  squeeze on it and it stays in place. It is a 1/4" adapter/nut driver used primarily for the screws that are closest to the inside of the windshield on a vehicle. You can take a short Phillips/Flat bit and not fall out of the socket.

Tool Adapter. That's the one that was manufactured to fit the super tool at the time that super tool 200 was in the makings.

Tool Adapter. That's the one that was manufactured to fit the super tool at the time that super tool 200 was in the makings. There were tools in the museum case in the front office entrance. They were specialty tools for electricians. There really are tools that most eyes have not seen that Tim designed before PST came out.

The Original Tool Adapter and the Universal Tool Adapter are both awesome accessories for most of the Old School LM and even a lot of other brand MTs :salute: I have the Original with me daily in my backpack and another that is NIB  They really add a lot of versatility to a MT :like:

I am also a big Supertool (the whole family of tools) fan as well as a big fan of the PST and it's variants

Hey LM fans

Looks like our first post in this thread is way behind the times last entry is 2016 :o

No New Wave, Free Series, Heritage PST, Bond etc etc   :pok:
I  think also loads of retired tools eg the Juices, Squirt ES4 .........

Does anyone know the dates? - If so post them here and I will happily update the OP
I could take I guess or at least put placeholders if we get no replies

Thanks Team

I am sure I have meant to do this before now

Bond of course is 2021
Free series is 2019 (all models)
The Wave + came out early 2018 as well :salute:

The Heritage PST may have been in 2018? I believe you went to meet Tim Leatherman the same time it came out, no? So that would give you a good time for the date of it :tu:

2020 was when the last of the Juices were retired as well I think

Not sure of the ES4 ???

I can edit this in later today but I am putting this here to remind myself of these things

Hi again LM fans and Poncho

Well I thought I would have a go at the updates
In doing so I took the opportunity to restructure the page to make the Retired and Current columns (some of you might recognise the format! ;))
I also (slightly) reformatted the individual lines.

Just shown below in this post for now ...... What do you all think?

I entered the latest updates as per Poncho's post above - I left a ?? against the dates for now
I think the two columns is much easier for our users to consume - And of course also takes less space.
I have not checked against the LM website - And did not double check against the first page (yet)
Just wanted to put this out there

If y'all are OK with it I could update the first page with this structure - Note: Table is currently Work in Progress
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Note:
This table does not include the pure knife based models - eg The Crater, single handled Juice
Ii also does not include handle or blade variations - eg Damascus blade , camo handles etc

That looks nice. I think the Freestyle is now discontinued. The Freestyle CX was discontinued back in 2012 or so this Leatherman Wikipedia post states...

Thanks for the feedback lads

OK - I have made Chako's and Poncho's changes in the post above - I had also missed off a few Free models

Must admit I cannot get to grips with the numbering system of the Frees - But I am getting there
Looks like larger number means more tools eg P2 vs P4  and and X means a serrated blade on the non plier based tools
Also the Ts are shorter versions of the K's
Edit: Woo hoo - Just realised that P must mean pliers

I also cannot get worked up or enthiusiastic about this family at all - Why get a Free P compared to a Wave or a Charge??
Or a T or K compared to a Swiss Army Knife !!

Now the Bond I can get excited about - Simple, compact, lightweight, straightforward/uncomplicated and legal carry in many countries - and of course a great price  :tu: compared say to the Free
Also it seems that LM are finally listening to us - For how long have we been raving about the PST and asking them to bring it back? !

EDIT PS: Really sorry to see the Leap go - That was a nice little tool  :(   ...... And the Juices for that matter - I really think that family could have gone places with the right target market and marketing.

PPS. In researching this udate I checked out the LM website and noticed something funny

In the video for the Free P4 (and P2) they use the can-opener traveling the 'wrong way'.
I guess the users in the video were used to the traditional LM can-opener (Wenger style) where you pull the opener towards you to open the can.
However the Free CO is a Vic style CO where you push the CO away from you!! But it looks like they did not realise that!

https://www.leatherman.com/free-p4-585.html

Apologies if this has been pointed out before!

OK - I think I have gone as far as I can with the restructuring of the original post above.

I checked dates against the website that Chako kindly found - There were a few discrepancies eg Wave/Charge/Skeletool/Gardening dates - So I marked them with the new date and a ? .... and I am not sure who is correct Wiki or MTo - The Wiki dates are the latter in the listing
Also I am not sure when the OPTs were withdrawn

Can anyone confirm any of the ?? dates please

And are you happy for me to update the OP?    ???

Looks good :tu:

As far as the Skeletool goes, I think it was announced in 2007, but came into production and became available in late 2008. And the original CX had the combo blade while the SS had the plain edge.

Well we re-organised the first page and I was reflecting on the statistics behind that post

So since that post was first made in 2008 approximately .
  • 23 models that were in existence have been retired
  • 11 models have come ....... and gone
  • 4 models are still in production
  • There are 28 new models in production
  • 8 Pocket tools have arrived
  • 11 Pocket tools have come ..... and gone

As mentioned the numbers are very rough I might have counted up incorrectly - But it gives us some idea

I am not sure what it says about Leatherman and their product range       But I think at least it's interesting    ::)

Hi Team,

Remember we re-formatted the list in the first post a few weeks ago into the columnular format

At the time Ponch and Steve suggested that we leave the original list there at the bottom of the post in case anyone wanted to check/review/complain etc etc

Do you think we can remove it now?  ???
I think we should - Especially as it is incorrect on some dates and missing models    :pok:    Could cause confusion     :o

I did contact Benner at the time ....... and we have only just heard back from him - He did not specifically mention the updates to this thread and his post - So I am assuming 'silence is consent!'

I will do one last check before deletion to verify that nothing has been missed.   :tu:
