on: April 12, 2013, 06:26:53 PM
I've been really broke recently and actually can't even afford this tool at the moment, but I'm curious if it's any good because for some reason I really wanna try it, pics appreciated!

Here's my head-to-head between the Wingman and Kobalt.

I have an OPEN trade request, where I will trade my Kobalt for a Leatherman Wingman.

Hope that answers some questions for you.

I had one for a few years that I just last week threw away. It was used without much caution, exposing a few design flaws. IMO, the plier head was reasonable, and the anvil style cutters well suited to a pivot that isn't particularly tight. Unfortunately, just about everything else was not all that great. The screwdrivers bent easily. The file wasn't even good enough for fingernails. And finally, when a backspring busted for the knife blade, it became obvious that there was no simple workaround to keep the tool useful at all. So it got tossed.
