111mm hook

Just a proof of concept. Is there a way to integrate a hook into a 111mm knife? Yes there is. Even without to sacrify the cork screw / phillips.

Mine shows a saw layer with backspring from a 08 Soldier Saw. I added an additional nail nick to the hook, since the real nick will dissapear between the liners if the hook fully closes.

That layer with a hook will be put right into my Hunter OE.

OMG, is nothing sacred?  First it was 93mm's and now even the big SAKs can be infected with the Hook virus.

Nice!  If you're going to add a hook, it for sure makes sense to add the file version.   

Its kind of silly Vic still makes both kinds, why not just make the file hook?

I don't understand it, too. For me it could be a question of money (production costs). The hook without file is cheaper to produce. But that cannot be that much and I would allways prefere a hook with nailfile.
