Very cool!  :tu:

I really gotta get a couple of pics of my pipes up.  This weekend, I promise.

Pics?

As requested.  :hatsoff:  :)

The briars include Dr. Grabows, a Petersen, a BC, and a Cortina.  The cobs are all MM's.  Small collection, but I sure do enjoy them.  :tu:

The P-lip took some getting used to, but I do like it.  :tu:  Helps keep tongue bite to a minimum.  One minor issue is getting a pipe cleaner through that stem, but I've gotten the hang of it.  :)  The Grabow Omega there that looks like it has the P-lip really doesn't, just a standard hole.  That is a great pipe though, I love the military mount.  You can remove the stem while the pipe is still hot if need be.  Out of that group my favorite is actually the Cortina, the light colored one to the right.  That is one great smoking pipe!

I already lapsed and the risk of relapse is prominent guys.
We should convert this thread to a pipes and tobaccos vanity pictures thread. After work I'll show you my Sultan pipe, bought in Cappadokia, Turkey.

Here he is. Never smoked. I used the cigarette holder for my rolls. I also have a heavy used Falcon Meerschaum, you may see it in the previous shot.

Nice!  :tu: Yesterday we had some lovely weather, so after the show I went to enjoyed some time outside with a cob and some Prince Albert.  Simple, no frills tobacco that just seems perfect in a cob.  :)

Here's my modest little group of pipes.

Great. I love that white Church pipe. It is ceramic, isn't it? And I have the exact Falcon combination.

Commonly known as 'clay' pipes, it's actually a porcelain slip poured into a mold apparently.

Nice pipes. I really like the chuchwarden. Some of them can get some really long stems.

Very nice, Barry!  :tu:  Very good of him to give that to you.

@Gareth - Love the clay.  :tu:  One day I'm going to get one of them.  I do have a piece of a clay pipe here, just a stem.  It was found at a Union Army (Northern) campsite from the Civil War near Fredricksburg, VA.  Whoever broke it most likely fought in one (or more!) of the three huge battles fought in that area - Fredricksburg (December 11-15 1862), Chancellorsville (April 30-May 6 1863), or the Wilderness ( May 5-7, 1864).  I have a button and an unfired Minie ball found at the same site.  Neat little piece of history.  :)

Very nice haul there. Looks tasty.
Tom, very cool about the button and the Minie Ball. I don't have any from the Civil War, but I do cast my own Minie Balls.

Now I need to get a clay.

I've got two good pipe and cigar shops in my city and both of them sell clay pipes in a couple of sizes.  As Tom found out though, if you are going to smoke a clay pipe then you might have to make sure you have back-ups. ;)

Yeah it would be my luck I would get one, stuff it full of my best tobak, lite it, then butter finger it and watch it break into a 1000 piece.
Hhmmmm....... I need two clays.

:tu: I am curious how you like them. This shop has become my Dad´s only source of Tobacco.

I hope there is a leaflet included telling your what number is what tobacco.
They offer anything from unblended over blended tobaccos, roasted ones and aromated ones with fruit, Rum, Whiskey and so on. They have over 150 Kinds on display and you can smell them (and i believe you can even get a free pipe full if you are a smoker).
As a regular customer, my dad woudl often get small containers with enough for a pipe or two to test a new mixture or two.

I did mention that i like this shop, didn´t I?  :)

Sounds like a nice little shop.  In the town I work in there is a similiar place.  One whole side of the store is dedicated to pipe smoking.  There are display cases and racks that you're free to browse and handle the pipes.  They have disposable rubber tips handy so you can see how a stem feels in your mouth.  :)  One wall is tinned tobaccos, about 75 or 80 different brands and blends, and there are jars of different loose blends that you're free to fill your pipe from and try out.  Great little shop.  :tu:
