That is a sweet looking knife. I love the lines. Nothing fancy, but pure functionality. That handle material looks exactly the same as on my CS SRK. Pretty grippy stuff. How do you like the feel of the handle, Ben?

I really like it actually.  The shape of the handle is comfortable to hold and the rubber makes it highly grippy and slightly tacky to the touch.  It also feels pretty well balanced as well.

Another 2 Cold Steel knives arrived in the post for me today  :), a 5" and a 3" Twistmaster thanks to Hawkchucker (thanks buddy  ;)).  Both are based on the Opinel styled locking mechanism and both have the Carbon V steel blade.

I will take some pics later together with a collection pic.  The 5" has to be seen to appreciate how large it is!  :o :D

I think they are pretty good actually.  Nothing pretty or anything, but a good, reliable working knife.

The 5" is pretty huge, but like you say, the 3" will come in pretty handy.  :)

Maybe everybody except me already knows....what exactly is the "Opinel styled locking mechanism"?

You see that metal collar?  Well that spins round so the edge locks the blade.  To close it, you have to spin it so the slot lines up with the blade.  Hope that makes sense?

Ahh. So that explains the little gripping bumps that stick out from the collar?

Yes.  :)

It's a pretty reliable locking system and due to the taper on the collars edge, it leaves it open to coping with any future wear.

Go buy an opinel, they are like $10 each, very classic folding knife.

Can't argue with that mate, like Sak's and Mora's, Opinel's just prove the point that you don't need to spend a fortune to have a hard working, quality knife :)

hello benner, I have been looking for a good all around knife and I have my eyes set on a bushmaster. I read and seen earlier that you have one, how is it? how well does it hold an edge? is it easy to sharpen (don't really know how to sharpen a knife properlly :( )? do you have to mod the handle so it won't slip? How about the hallow handle will be a cause of concern when wet will it rust inside? sorry for the numerous questions, thanks in advance. PS do you have any other suggestion for a good all around knife.

Donald
