What to use to draw on glossy plastic?
on: June 02, 2013, 05:04:10 AM
I'm doing a PC build and I want to do some original art work on the side of the PC case.

what should I use to do this?
I want it to look more professional than just using a sharpie marker.

If it shall be duarable and look professional, i woudl sand teh surface, paint on it in the technique you prefer and seal it with clearcoat.

Otherwise you are quite stuck with markers or maybe spraybombing it.

This might not be durable, but it would look pretty neat...

There is a paint you can get that turns a surface into a chalkboard.  If you did that then you could use chalk for the graphics, then possibly seal it with some kind of clearcoat.

Leave the dents as they are- let your belongings show their scars as proudly as you do yours.

depending on the complexity of the design you could maybe use etching liquid? would give it a unique texture...
The difficult we do immediately, the impossible takes a little longer.

Can't think of the brand name off the top of my head, but there are "paint pens" available that come in different colours and nib widths. I have used them in the past for marking my name on tools and they are way more durable than Sharpies and won't wipe off with solvent like ink will.

okay, just googled paint pen and Sharpie have a range of them as well as their ink pens.
