Changed tires for my car yesterday. I had a 2 ton jack to lift the car. There is a small knob that you are supposed to twist with the end of the lever arm to descent the car. With the lever arm it's at least challenging to control the descent and I've had previosly one close call with the car dropping too fast. As I remembered the incident I also remembered the pliers on my Curl on my belt and used them instead. I got great and slow control this way and changed the tires safely!

Quick update on my ARC - I tried it out on a strand of coated chain link fencing wire this morning, as I do with all my new tools.

It cut it easily enough, but didn’t seem to enjoy the experience…

Disappointing, at least you can fit some decent cutters to it. A chap on reddit hardness tested these cutters at mid fifties rc iirc. The previous cpm ones were low 60s.

Myself and mini-me undertook a build your own robot toy affair that required judicious use of both a pst and sideclip (which he prefers) . The finished bot looks and walks like the robots from Silent Running if your old enough to remember that flick.

Used my Juice XE6 saw to cut a stick to hold the sheep feed box lid up.

Window broken by falling branch during yesterday’s wind. Well replace the window once it’s warmer outside. For now it’s board up with some insulation.

Used modded Wave to cut the board and hold nails.

Today i used Rebar for fixing my car (again) noticed also that Wingman flathead can be used on sockets,  offcourse i dont recommend using it for too tight screws.

I have been using my Rebar at work constantly lately.  Demoing a construction site I used the Rebar to cut wire, remove wall plates, cut ceiling ties.  I have been really impressed with how tough the Rebar is.   :multi:

January has been all about unpacking and installing shiny new screens, projectors and such. It's not exactly what they pay me for but I don't mind! Skeletool, bitkit and headlamp see a lot of use.
Spydies and Vics and Leathermans, Oh My!

Until there’s a replacement for the Hybrid, the Raptor is my favourite gardening Leatherman.

Hacking at some ivy while the sun was shining today.

I don't take many pictures, but I think there isn't a day the LM doesn't see at least a little bit of work.
Yesterday was helping a friend move, he had no tools available, I broke down a table in 10 seconds. When he saw the smallish looking PST he said : "it won't work". Than stood corrected. I might get him one one of these days.

If he recognizes how wrong he was.  :D

Needed to do some work on my ancient Echo weedwacker.  Pulled a bolt on the bottom gear housing and put in some grease.  Then a cleanup of the air filter and housing.  Leatherman Bolster did the work.  Spark plug is rusty, but it started first pull and ran perfectly.  No reason for a new sparkle.
The newly hatched out paper wasps all swarmed around and checked out the action.  I don't think they had ever seen a man get grease over so many different things and drop parts in the dirt so many times.  If they laughed it was too high for human ears.  Best wishes.  G

I looked all over the Award Badge area for a weed wacker badge and couldn't find one.  So, I had to make my own.  Best wishes.  G

Lawn machine fixer badge would be a great badge.

I’ve fixed several lawn care tools and tractors with my multitools.

My Wave served that purpose today. Had to grab the chainsaw chain with the pliers as it jammed. Then spent way too long filing out a burr on chain. The Spirit file would’ve made short work of it, but then the Wave file diamond side helped re-edge the jammed tooth just a bit.

Cut down a number of trees today and process some limbs for fire… but then it rained harder than expected.

Nothing but rain and strong wind here lately.  I will have to put the battery back in my Cub tomorrow and see if it will crank.  Hopefully I won't have to use a chainsaw this week.  Great photos, Banana.  Maybe we do need a Lawn Tool Repair badge?  Best wishes.  G

Wingman went along instead of a pair of pliers on the Cub maintenance.  Battery was charged up and bolted back in place.  The wire retaining clip was difficult.  Had to go get a big screwdriver to pry it back on.  Not enough leverage on the LM for this.
Good news is the Cub cranked right up and I mowed the highest parts of the lawn.  Spring.
Best wishes.  G

Thanks and great use, Gary  :like:  I think a lawn tool repair badge would be fun. Maybe also a dedicated thread if folks are doing consistent repairs.  I have a battery Ryobi pusher mower and where whacked I primarily use, but I do have to break out the John Deere ride on for the back lot. It’s a pain to maintain but I’m not buying a new one while it’s still working. We had a John Deere push I eventually gave up on for the time being. Issues outweighed the cost of replacing.
