Hmm, I looked through and re-read all the topics about Flair on the MTO, I tried to find all available information on the Internet, and found no mention of this important detail anywhere. Well, I'll be the first to notice that the older (xx99 - 0200) Flair's corkscrews has 5 small turns, and the later items (0300 - xx04) - 4 larger turns

Another intersting Flair detail - on early items (~0699 - ~1099) date code has only on knife handle, corkscrew handle without date codes

So, at now, I counted 4 different Flair modifications.

The only reason of the 5 turns vs. 4 turns is that less turns on the corckscrew worm means wider spacing and is less likely to cause damage to the cork compared to the 5 or more turns with tighter spacing. However, not sure if that's the main reason why LM decided to change the design, unless Tim is a wine aficionado or connoisseur ;) :drink:

Thanks Rizio Il Ghiro for an offer I had to take

A lovely Leatherman Flair (0799)

It needed some TLC and a little repair on that retention-knob thingy on the opener.

... it was a pita putting it back together... the spring for the corkscrew makes it "nearly" impossible...

Fixed...  :tu:

I love it and it will get some use and carry for sure  :tu:

Question:
Did leatherman make another tool the same size as as the Flair that fit in the same leather holster?
I have a really nice Flair but it's in a nylon holster. I'd like to buy a leather sheath that fits but I hope to avoid paying Flair level prices.

The PST leather sheath is a tight fit but if will work for a Flair sheath  It is only tight a little bit because of the corkscrew  :tu:

Yeah. I have a nice PST II sheath, but it's a very tight fit. Is there no other Leatherman that used the same leather sheath as the Flair?

The one that fits the Pulse is bigger but then you are in the price range you don't want to get to :D

Thanks,
I've been lurking a while. I've accumulated a drawer full of various Leatherman tools.
