I don't have one but do new octanes count? They don't "flick" like the rest of Gerber's sliding pliers

I know they flick, but the newest ones have notches so you must press the buttons on the sides to get them out. This prevents the tool from deploying in your pocket. (Correct me if I'm wrong)

Yeah, I was thinking the same mate   :P

The Balance doesn't flik, but the OTF is very smooth. My Octane does flick, but I tend to do the "matrix drop" (as Gareth calls it) instead. I also have the DeSTroyer (600 DET with Paul Chen Multitasker shear heads), MP426 (Modded knifeless MP400 with corkscrew and file)

All right, its time for all us odd(er) balls to out ourselves, and our love for flicky Gerbers!

You still haven't discovered the joy that is the MP700 yet have you  ;) and the Dime is a very nice tool too  :pok: :D

I might have a couple as well. ;)  MP600 Pro Scout, Octane, Balance, MP450, modded MP400, a Carolina version of the original Multiplier and a Flik.  I carry my flicky MTs far more often than my butterfly style ones.  I'll post some pics when I get home to my laptop.

Oh, I forgot to mention I also have a spare MP400 and MP450 in case anything happens with my knifeless with corkscrew mod, so I can replace it albeit minus the corkscrew. Plus, I have the remnants of the original mod which is like a MP400 with two different serrated blades instead of a file. Just hanging onto that for spare parts really, in case I smurf up a driver or something

I have previously owned a Flik and a BO Mr Pinchy, but wasn't really impressed with either of them. One hurt too much, and the other was total crap!

Ahem....  :worthless:  ::)  You all talk some nice tools, let's see them!  Here are some of mine.

A pair of old school Pinchys, a Gerber and a Carolina, a Chinese-made Fiskars.

A Pair of US Army issue MP600s.  The upper one is soon to be a subject of HM The Queen if I ever get off of work in time to ship it.  :(

My two favorites- the MP450 and the MP600 Pro Scout.  The 450 was my first Gerber, and started this mess.  :twak: to Mercury for that...  :P  The Pro Scout is the tool I grab when I know I need a larger tool during the day.  If it's not on my hip, it's usually riding in my bag.  :tu:  Not shown are my Octane and Balance.  They're both on loan to my brother, who was looking for a pocket sized multi and wanted to try them out.  Yesterday he ordered his first real MT, a Balance.  :D  And before any of the Gerber haters start up, yes, I do get along with my brother.  If I didn't I would have recommended a Skeletool.  >:D

I've had this Gerber Multi-plier for years as a gift from my dad. As I have just recently joined this fine community, I've found renewed interest in all things multi-tool. i hope someone can tell me more about this fine tool. Thanks.

It looks to be a hybrid-head "Mr. Pinchy" Gerber Multiplier. :)

Also, welcome to the forum.

I really like it. I like the features. I like the looks a lot. Can´t say that I have put in to really hard use yet but counting on doing that during this summer .
The pliers works fine. I don´t have a LM crunch to compare it with but it exchanged my other cheap visegrip-tool.
But there is always things you wish were done differently. The pliers flicks out very easy.Sometimes to easy. Optional for me would be if you had to push the buttons on the slider to flick it out as you have to to fold it in. When you working with one of the external tools the pliers kind of disturbs you when they comes out despite your will.
The serrations are nice but like everbody else i wish it was a plain edge but the knife is quite long so...
and the file is good but I wish ther were grooves on the side as well because I use those a lot on small multitool-files.
I was very curious about the prybar I thought that was a very cool feature. But just holding on the tip with my hand and add some force to the handle is enough to make me think twice before prying a bigger nail.
Concentrated a little on what I don´t like here but overall I like it alot and i would recomend it.
