If you have big mitts(hands) & you like one handed opening blades the new Surge with the replaceable wire cutters could be a winner

I think a wave or charge is best. It will be fine in bigger hands. In my opinion the surge is too big to be regularly carrying. But if you use the skeletool cx for regular carry and leave the surge in a car or house for example that could work. The surge will also have either the saw or file out at one time so be careful you don't lose them. Remember, a surge is pretty much a big wave.

The MUT might be a contender , basically a beefed up Skeletool .

I LOVE my Surge,  sure it is heavy! (Heaviest Leatherman) but it does everything I need!  the new surge with 154CM replaceable wire cutters should be comming out in the next month or so, and it will also have a universal T-shank adapter that can easily accept off the shelf t-shank blades such as Bosch.

I also have a ST300, a Rebar (Shrunken ST300), 2 Wingman's and an old Kick, ES4, and 2 Micra's.  I say this just to point out what other items I have to compare it too.

The Surge is my go to tool, it has a bit adapter (get the bit kit and bit extender and expand the possibilities), if you wear out your file or saw, you can buy more cheaply, and you not only have one hand tools, but you get scissors that can keep up with just about any Leatherman scissors.

The new Surge will have those replaceable wire cutters, so that is one less thing you can screw up permanently.
If I can help, let me know

Well I've been shopping for the same kind of thing. I want a full size tool and came down to the Surge or ST300. I almost got the Surge, but after trying it out at the store, I liked the ST300 feel better. More comfortable and didn't get any pinching due to having all the tools on the inside. I agree it's super tough to pick between the two and wish I had enough money to get both!

you are right about st300, i bought a st200 black after i opened this topic.my plan was waiting for new surge and buying it on august but st200 is really a strong tool, not a toy i feel, as i wrote before it is a piece of solid steel.maybe i will buy a new surge but just to have it, carrying a black st200 in my front pocket of my jeans and using it when i need is a great joy for me.

closed, box or coffin style of st200 (also crunch and micra, i have), i like it.on my rescue missions, i always carry a plier based multi-tool and a single blade oho folding (endura, evo etc.) so i really don't need a oho knife on my multi.i prefer a strong and simple multi, and a quality steel blade.
