Components
on: April 21, 2008, 01:10:47 AM
I know you can get SOG components directly online, but what I want to know is if you purchase replacement scissors, does it include the arm that attaches the multitool between the handles?  I know that's a confusing description, let me see if I can find a pic.  The reason I wanted to know, is because I plan on customizing my EOD Powerlock 2.0 when I get it, to include scissors and a serrated blade instead of half serrated.  Let me know what you think.  Thanks!

Okay, I see what you mean, on the SOG component page the scissor is shown without the spring arm:

But not to worry, when you order it the spring arm is included.  :)
In order to be certain of having the right tool for every job.........one must first acquire a lot of tools

Another thing I might be worried about is if the scissors can work with the Piano Locks on the new EOD PL.  Anybody tried it or have an answer for me?  TIA.

Just about all there tools are enter-changeable,as long as they don't hit the needle nose part.

Has anyone ever tried the Serrated Line Cutter component? It really intrigues me!

I was looking at that, I might get one when I finally buy a EOD PL2.0.  I want to A/B it with the V-cutter and see how it performs on seatbelts, rope, clothing, etc.  Looks a lot more useful to me, especially since I have the ability to sharpen it.  Hopefully I'll get some hits in the Trade forum and can pick one up! :D

I've been wanting one for a while, but I never got around to it. It looks like it could replace both the V-cutter and the serrated blade pretty well. The only problem I can see is that the hook-like cutter on the end would not be as sharp, because the V-cutter's blades are replaceable, and the line cutter would have to be sharpened, and hooks like that are hard to sharpen.
