91mm LED Question
on: June 11, 2013, 03:23:03 PM
Thinking about getting a Spartan Lite. My question is, does the light come on in your pocket, or does it take alittle effort to turn the light on. I know they are not that bright, but sometimes you just need a little bit.

Thanks

The toggle switch is fairly stiff,so I don't think there'd be much risk

I have been thinking about getting a SAK Lite of some kind, but I'm not sure how useful the tiny light is. Is it bright enough to read with? The other worry I have is whether the battery will leak if I forget to change it.

Best advice is just to buy a 'normal' SAK,and make a small lanyard with a Fauxton(fake Photon) on it.

The Vic led is ok in true darkness, but is pretty feeble.Fauxtons are about 5 for £5 on UK eBay.Theres small Lenser torches for about a fiver that have plenty of light too.

I have tried to carry a 91mm led SAK. Yes, they do turn on in your pocket and it will kill the battery. I find the led a great emergency light, but that's about it. Good to keep in a nightstand to find something at night without waking your SO.
