Anyone carry safari trooper
on: June 10, 2013, 02:23:49 AM

Well, I stayed away from sak collecting for awhile, hard on the wallet, but had a week moment today and bought a safari trooper from tim's shop when I realised I had no 108 mm...

Since all of my "collection" gets pocket time, my question is: Does anyone carry one on a regular basis, and how does it work for you?

Thanx.

I don't EDC a Safari Trooper but a 108mm Solo. I like the size of the blade, the heavy duty scales and of course the super snap of the main blade.
You should seriously visit vicfan.com. All the hoopy froods are doing it.

Trooper is my go-to outdoor sak. Size has never been an issue. Only "complaint" is the lack of easy-to-use flat head screwdriver. Might be different if I had the sawguard.

I used to carry a safari trooper for the very ample blade. but it's rather limited in it's offerings tho

A modded 108 would be very nice.  I'd be happy with the blade layer, saw layer and scissors added.

Now that would be NICE, a pathfinder with a added pair of scissors! Nothing on the backside, just the blade, saw and scissors, SWEET! JR

I've got one for woodland carry, as pocket knives really don't come anymore robust! :)

They are a bit too limited for EDC imo however :-\
Give in, buy several Farmer's!!!!!!

Got it in today.  Came with saw guard (props to tim). A little long for most pockets, but works good in cargo and carpenter shorts which is what I wear in the woods. I wonder why these didn't become more popular, they're robust and sturdy as hell.

The tools feel a little odd eh, but for sure you need a 108 in the collection.  I love the main blade and awl on them.  You can add in a corkscrew driver too.  I havent modded one yet, but I really want to add scissors.

You know, I think I might have seen scissors (from classic or executive) put in place of the awl...not sure, so don't quote me on it.
