Very nice design work, Ombudsman. I notice a bit SOG Powerduo influence there. I'm not sure if both the full sized pliers and sheers would fit in the middle handle though. Might need to make them a tad smaller.

Could the tapered handles be shorter and less pointy than the center handle? Thus eliminating the pinch-ability of "the crotch". I don't see a need for a MT to have rapier style blades  :D

This is how it may look with tapered ends which could include driver bits or bit holders

Very helpful artwork Onbudsman  :tu:

That "closed" taper nestling on the inside does make it look a little pinchy. A more flush sitting Wenger style lever arm (using the z shaped spring mentioned before) would eliminate that, and still allow other layers for supporting tools

Thnxs ! :salute: its just a composition made in Power Point ! :D

I like the idea of having 2 Wenger style levers but instead of a z shaped spring, both heads can be opposite in the same layer with the levers on top of each other  :tu:

That will also fix the problem of dealing with the different widths of the pliers and the scissors.

Hmmm ....  ... I think if you did that you would always have to open the lever for the one you didn't want to use to get out the one you do (as the end of the lever would sit on the head of the opposite tool) which could get annoying pretty quick. The othe benefit of the Z spring is the pliers and scissors could be long enough to overlap (allowing larger pliers and shears, as well as used independantly without disturbing the other tool

Make the centre rectangular piece convex on both sides, and make the handles on either side of it curved.

That should mean it gives a more ergonomic grip when using either the pliers or the scissors, and should prevent problems with pinching.

I'll try making a sketch in paint when I get a chance.

I'll post this here for reference. Not ideal but its proof of concept on a smaller scale.

That is really cool :)  I love it.  If you guys are still working on it I was thinking for the pliers if instead you used LM Crunch pliers so it doesn't have to be fully connected the whole time, and that would give some flexibility to the design.

Hm, interesting at least, would like to know how it performs. And cool of them to make something of their own instead of knocking off known designs. :hatsoff:

That does look interesting, although that Phillips driver does look suspiciously small.  :-\

I look forward to the pics and write up, Thomas  :pok: :D

I gave in and ordered one... Shows that it will ship from the far east, not Karlsruhe, Germany as stated. I´ll let you know when it arrives.

Wow, that is awesome! Pretty much exactly what has been discussed here for a couple of years now :tu: I wish the quality would be good.

It´s here. It´s odd. It´s interesting. It´s not horrible.
Bad things:
My wife did receive the mail (I don´t buy tools at the moment, you know?). It came with a mini-catalogue with a few other interesting tools.
I won´t be able to post pics today.

You've only just got it, and you're already planning how to get rid. That doesn't sound good  :P :D

I like it!  I would buy one of those! Looks very slick, but I would like to see it with wire strippers and crimpers on one of the heads!

Mail call. :mail: After seeing the above link I found a US seller and this one is OUTU branded. I was drawn to the design and it is very cool. Only paid $10 for it so I'm happy.

I will take it to work with me tomorrow and put it through some test.

It seems pretty good and it fits the tool well. Time will tell

Edit: Also it may be good to know it's a slip joint knife. It does not lock which may or may not be a bad thing depending on your preference.

They have multiple postings. This one is for $6. I have no affiliations. This was my first buy from them http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=272000306379&alt=web
