A fake Workchamp
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/New-111mm-Black-multifunctional-pocket-knife-folding-stainless-steel-outdoor-camping-survival-knife-multi-tool-free/32727822363.html

These guys are really annoying/deceitful - As they include a picture of a genuine Vic - Main pic and next one
Then photos of their fakes

- You see that quite a lot

I feel really sorry for the general public - As they buy one of these things - thinking they have a genuine Vic - when  it's not.
It's likely to not be up to scratch - to put it mildly -
So Vic's reputation is damaged and the buyer gets crap

At least they're not saying it's Victorinox.  They should put the word "style" in the title though.

Here's a few that inadvertently ended up with me. I'm going to send them back to the dark hole from whence they came.

Fake Parachutist.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Swiss-Army-Knife-Multi-Function-Compact-Black-Multi-Purpose-Folding-Pocket/302630674630?epid=14012746473&hash=item467631a0c6:g:sQgAAOSwkh9aeszi

Not an actual fake as it's not sold as Victorinox, but rather a clone or SAK-a-like  :pok:

Impressive actually, that it actually has a brand name, usually these are sold brandless

Unfortunately, Ebay couldn't care less.  I've filed several of these reports and they have done absolutely nothing.

We all know the chinese have produced millions of fake knives some with shields that look near genuine but the knife itself is a P-O-S. The sale and promotion of these fakes hurt the genuine Swiss Army knife business in several ways. Lets use our Forum power and report as many of these fakes to get them removed from eBay and any other reputable web site. Perhaps with our combined efforts it will make some difference.

Here is my first link for you guys to report. Now this listing does not have words that say Victorinox but it does have a photo that clearly shows the shield logo and name Victorinox, so it is trying to promote the knife as genuine. BTW, if you did not know there is a "Report" button on every eBay auction web page. Right side about half way down just before the auction description.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/SUPER-28-Multifunctional-Stainless-Steel-91mm-Swiss-Knife-Tool-/151071496059?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item232c90177b

Here is what the reporting page looks like and what choices you should choose for fake item reports. Please add any fake auctions or sales you find here and lets stamp out these phoneys.

I ordered the top pic, the bottom pic arrived.. I guess I'm partially responsible knowing that first pic doesn't quite make sense with the box... but I like taking chances.

At any rate, I'm sending this POS back.

First time I see a GAK fake!

http://www.ebay.com/itm/BW-German-army-Pocket-Multitool-Folding-knife-Bundeswehr-eagle-knife/262581867879?_trksid=p2047675.c100011.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D41668%26meid%3D6de37dabd0234a368a7a32827ac973c1%26pid%3D100011%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D12%26sd%3D272587263985
I don't think it is fake... at least to me it doesn't appear to look like one...It is known that Victorinox sub-contracted the manufacturing of GAKS to other companies such as Aitor, Miltec and MFH...

https://forum.multitool.org/index.php?topic=26444.0

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Now here's something different: a Mil-Tec 111mm GAK:

https://www.ebay.de/itm/263294936194

Mil-Tec makes copies of lots of different military gear, clothes, tools, etc.. I wouldnt really call them fakes, as they don't claim them to be original/genuine

I actually have some of their clothing items, not too bad quality  :tu:

Doesn't surprise me - also knowing about Mil-Tek and their penchant for copying things. Two things I noted:
  • eBay Germany
  • Knife blade lacks one-hand opening thumb hole
  • Appears to have liner lock for knife blade
Doesn't surprise me as one-hand opening knives with locking blades are illegal to carry in Germany (you can have one or the other feature, but not both). The Vic Bundeswehr GAK cannot be legally carried in a manner that's readily accessible as it's one-hand and locking. As I understand it one can have them in their private residence, but when transported in public must be in a locked container or similarly made inaccessible.

An old posting but contains inaccuracies . . .

Victorinox didn't sub-contact the GAK production. The German government did multiple sourcing for them, having them made to spec, spreading the production out, just as the Swiss Government did between Victorinox and Wenger. Vic only made them for about a decade when they were initially fielded by the Bundeswehr. Vic made some parts for one of the other companies a couple years after that. More details about it are here:
