I got this Rodgers knife yesterday very dirty out of the bin at the scrapyard and to my surprise when I cleaned it up its hallmarked silver, has anybody seen something like this before?

At a guess I think the scales are after marker or made for them from the makers mark cc.  Ver nice item though.

Very nice  :tu: I have a celidor clad equivalent of the same knife

If I'm reading the Sheffield hallmark right here ...

Here is a link to what is left of the company. They may be ableto shed some light on it for you.  If not try the cutlers hall in Sheffield.

I'm having trouble identifying the makers mark for the scales. I have found a C.C and a C.C.P but not a "C.C."

Might be worth contacting the Sheffield Assay Office ... http://www.assayoffice.co.uk/

Thanks for the info, I also can't find the maker, the date letter I found was 1996 http://www.argentinglesi.com/sheffielding.php

Thanks,I didn't think about that

The scales are about 1mm thick the back scale are also marked but like in minute, I had to use a needle to clean out the hallmarks, a "W" and a "Lion".

I also found this one, according to a quick google search the "No6 Norfolk St Sheffield England" mark was used from 1929 up until the late 30's
