I apparently was the thread killer in my own thread :ahhh I will fix that :D my opinion about the Pulse and an update still remain the same after all these years. I have even echoed my own posts in this thread as of late even :o The ST200 owner's club thread brought this thread back to my mind so let's see who has a LM a Pulse now people :tu: I only have 2 myself but there isn't any variations of it that I am aware so that is a user and a mint one that I have  ;)

Love the Pulse, the only variations I believe are the file with and without fish hook grooveand the plier head marked USA or Tool.

I also have 2 tho I'll need to check the files.  I was in love with the rocker locks.  I don't know why other than to say they are neat.  It would be great to see LM "update" the tool to include a current locking system.  The size is fine as are the tools on board.

Yikes, a thread about the Pulse so old that I didn't take part. :o

Yup, the Pulse is definitely one of my top MTs.  Certainly my favourite Leatherman. 8)

That is a beauty shot Steve :o

You are right it has been so long that I have talked about the Pulse I forgot that about the Pulse file there was indeed 1 with a groove (older) and a newer version that didn't have the groove  Same change occurred on the PST II :tu:

J-sews - Of the three - two are marked "USA", whereas the other has "TOOL" on the plier heads.

The diamond file on the the one marked "TOOL" doesn't have the groove down it (so its very like the file on the PST 2 for example) whereas the other two files do.

Of the two grooved files, one has the grey matt finish, but the other has polished SS at the base.

Very slight differences, but hey, I had them there - in my hand - it was meant to be  :D

Here's a piccy....

Davek had put a pic of the differences on page 1 but it's not showing up for me :( maybe it will show up for some of you guys though :tu:

The Pulse is one of my all-time favorite multitools. I don't use mine much because I'm so afraid of breaking it. I have this fear of breaking a retired tool and not being able to get a replacement. I would totally EDC a Pulse everyday for the next 10 years and it would serve me quite well. Its perfect in regards to tool layout and weight.

I have not had mine out in a while either but just because I rotate quite a few different tools for weekend carry and this one had gotten shoved toward the back :D

Also of note the scissors on the Pulse aren't on any other LM but they are very similar in design to the ones on the Blast and new Wave :tu: The Pulse scissors are shiny and the ones on the Blast and Wave are matte finish and not as robust as the ones on the Pulse :o :D

I only knew because I checked back through the thread. ;)  I can't honestly remember how long I've had a Pulse, but I guess it's been less than 7 years. :D

I didn't realize that about the scissors. Thanks

It helps when you have the tool itself sitting in front of you with a few others looking at them :D I had forgotten about it until I got it out and was looking at it just a bit ago

I just wanted to resurrect this thread to say how much I'm enjoying the Pulse I got in trade from Spoonrobot.  I have been carrying it the past couple of days, and it has served me well.  With the excellent file and scissors, I think it is the perfect companion to a Victorinox Farmer.  It seems that I have all of the bases covered between the two tools:

The Farmer has what the Pulse is missing: saw, awl
The Pulse has what the Farmer is missing: scissors, phillips driver

8 years on, and these are still some of my most frequently-carried tools--especially the Scibeer hard-anodized Farmer that I carry nearly every day.

I just ran across these old pics from 2008...

This tool is the main reason I fuss about LM not putting a diamond file in the Rebar :poh: :D

All they had to do to update the PST/PST II was put push tab locks on the Pulse  and then BAM PSTIII or Pulse II :gimme:
