Where are Leathermans made?

I had an argument with my brother yesterday. I kept insisting that leathermans are made in Oregon, USA. He kept on insisting that leathermans are subcontracted to chinese factories who's correct?

Thanks Benner, the quality of some products really goes down the drain after opening factories in China. You get what you pay for I guess.

To my knowledge, their sheaths are made in China
"Some rise by sin, and some by virtue fall;
Some run from breaks of ice, and answer none:
And some condemned for a fault alone." -William Shakespeare, King Lear (1608), Act IV, scene 6, line 169

Accessories are often made overseas (China). A few parts are started in other countries (pliers are cast in Mexico). All finishing, assembly, packaging, and the vast majority of parts are %100 USA. The plant is in Portland, OR.
My wife's from Portland, so I was lucky enough to get a chance to visit the plant. Here's a thread I made about the trip:

Here's a video of the factory from LM's website:

From what I understand most Leatherman tools have final assembly in the USA but from parts in many cases made outside the USA. For example I have read that plier heads are made in Mexico. Many other parts come from Europe. I was told by a knife dealer that their knives are made in China, but have not seen this confirmed anywhere.
There was law suit against Leatherman a while back and the outcome was that Leatherman now have the following statement on their packaging:
"Made in the U.S.A. with U.S. and foreign components."
The were also had to remove the wording "USA" from the plier heads and now put the word "Tool" in its place. Some Juices I got cheap from Cosco came new in the original packaging with the "USA" wording scratched out.

I wonder how much a Wave would cost if the plier heads were made here in the USA? Say retail they are $60...would they be $80? ...Would the Surge be $100?

It'd cost the same, but you'd only get 1 jaw. The other would be an accessory.

I don't mind paying more as long as I getting more in terms of quality, someday my life may depend on my multitools when that day come I will be glad I have a tool I can depend on.
