111mm gak with plain edge?

I've got a ex issued 111mm out gak on its way as missed my 111mm soldier,got one question, the one I've got coming has a plain edge instead of the se type,i've found a pic on the Web but the site was foreign so I could not read it,does anyone know about this knife  :salute:

Я недавно купил в ebay такой-же(понравился Ваш обзор) однорукий бундесверовский нож на фирме торгующей бундесверовской амуницией(сам живу в Германии).Вот что странно:по всем данным имеющимся в интернете данным этот нож должен быть полусеррейтером, а мне прислали рlain.Нож прибыл абсолютно новым и совершенно ТУПЫМ(кое-как его заточил на бруске купленном 10лет назад у поляков за пару марок),что для Victorinox не является НОРМАЛЬНЫМ. Подскажите пожалуйста оптимальный предмет для затачивания этого ножа, а также остальных швейцарцев(сам думаю купить точилку фирмы Fiskars)?Этот нож чистый хозбыт или же он пригоден также для НБ и СО(сам в этом совершенно не разбираюсь)?

Some of the GAKs I have bought have a reground blade as the serrations had been damaged.
The issued ones all had partially serrated blades AFAIK, except for the few "BUND" marked ones that were not one handed.
Maybe someone put scales from a GAK on his trekker and sold it and kept the serrated one with trekker scales?!
If it has a factory plain edge and you´d rather like a serrated one, i have a nearly new GAK I could trade you.

PS: Did Kirk mess with your Keyboard, maybe?  :D

The Russian text appears to be someone basically asking the same question as you, "How come my knife has a plain0edge rather than serrated"; and that he found the blade unsharp.

According to Google Translate, that says the following:

 :D thanks guys,well I got it from a site that sells ex issued gear and had the option of serrated or plain edge,i preferred plain,possibly a soldier removed the serrations?  I'll contact the seller for info and post pics when it arrives  :tu:

Doesn't look like there has been any significant material removed from the blade IMO, so either someone has done a scale swap or there was a factory mistake.  It has been known to happen. ;)

Interesting, because that thumb hole isn't very common for plain edge knife, afaik. Has it a flatter shape, than the normal round one?

Looking at pics of the se version you can see it's  definitely a re-grind,it's been well done with a sharp edges, for 16.99 I'm very happy  :salute:

If I understand you right, it is one of the older OH blades. They had a flatter thumb hole.
