I like the Cadet, but prefer the pen blade to the nail file - so would like a Cadet II instead. :dd:
+1 - caninesapian wanted one so I had to mod it for him - couldn't get a Cadet II so easily.

I never quite understand this. Pen blades are great, but the Cadet awlready has a nice 85mm blade. With a nail tool, I get a whole extra 2-3 functions. And I end up using the nail sanding tool a good bit. The pen blade would be mostly redundant for me.

I will usually (95% of the time, maybe?) chose the small blade over the large one.  The majority of my knife use is for utility tasks - package opening, removing labels, gentle scraping, delicately prying Lego bricks apart, that sort of thing.  I rarely come across a situation where a large blade works better than a small one.

Funny how we're all different, innit? :D

edit: wot mags sed.

Hmmmmmm.......to each their own, as you say, but it still doesn't make sense. I can't say I've ever found the 85mm blade to be inadequate for small, EDC-type tasks.

But who am I to quibble? Today's carry for me is a HUGE Pioneer and a SOG Powerlock!

And, if the pen blade works for you..... :2tu:

I didn't look to see if I have already said the Cadet is a good tool but the addition of scissors would make it great.   Took awhile for Vic to put them on the Pioneer so maybe it might be a possibility.  They ( Vic ) has got to know how well received the 84mm scissors would be.

I hear ya Aloha...

I find the cadet good... but it’s just too thin to  hold even with 2 layers... plus I find more use with a small pen blade than the file...

What do I do, added scissors and replaced the file... now it sees some pocket time when  I’m in the mood or require an 84mm...

it’s as thick as a Pioneer but shorter

Excellent!  Love this mod.  As someone else has already said, if Vx ever gets around to building a Cadet X, I'd be all over it.
