New guy
on: July 22, 2013, 10:58:59 PM
Hey guys.

My name is David I'm a long time lurker, (obviously) first time poster =P

I have been in search of the perfect MT and am torn between the convenience of my Oht and the cutting power of my Sog.

I have in the last 2 weeks acquired;

Leatherman
ST300 BO
Surge stainless
OHT BO

Gerber
600 (military issue 15 yrs ago)
Diesel
MP1 (returned 2 of them horrible tool)

SOG
2) PowerLock (Omg awesome, but tool access is so cumbersome)
PowerAssist (Awesome but received a defective tool awaiting a return from amazon)
BlackTip (awesome tool very large wish it had the assist on the blade)

So far the OHT is my absolute favorite, if it had the cutting power of a SOG it would be utter perfection. As it is I would settle for the cutting power of my Surge or ST300.

Never knew I needed spring assisted until I had it.

Sorry for the novel.

Or be like me and just have multiple MTs on you, or near by.

Surge on my belt in holster with bit kit and bit extender

juice XE6 in pocket

ES4 on small clip on belt loop

micra on key chain

ST300 in MOLLE pouch on my MOLLE bag that I use every day

rebar & SAK super Tinker in pocket organizer that is attached to MOLLE bag  (grab and run essentials)

Gerber MP600 in car glove box

Wingman in car center console

And last but not least SAK cybertool 41 in my desk drawer at work.   :climber:

Yes, this is proof that I need help

however, I feel prepared   but I still want more  :gimme:

if the worst happens,  I am somewhat prepared.

not to mention I made a paracord belt about 4 years ago, and I wear it every day.
I also always wear a paracord bracelet, with some essentials inside.

the last thing is the end all for me, I took a 2 inch piece of flint steel about 1/4" thick and put it inside a piece of gutted paracord, melted the end,  and ran it through a lace hole, and knotted the back. cannot even tell it is there, but I know where it is at.

am I over prepared,  YES

should I tone it back?  , maybe.

will I,  no.

but I enjoy doing it, and that is why I do it.   :o

If I can help, let me know

Thanks for the warm welcome. Detron I'm working on the belt, just got the buckle the other day (double cobra) already taught my oldest daughter how to make bracelets that we all wear everywhere we go.

Got the Blacktip in the mail today and my daughter was all "daddy not another one"
