Every now and then I see a full sized multitool that I like and is inevitably beyond my reach financially once you factor in postage to the land Down Under.

My latest craving is a Truckers Friend by Innovations Factory.

Its what I NEED for my Suzuki motorcycles & Suzuki SUV.

I have always dismissed the various 12" old crate tools given that the hatchet heads are pathetic but this seems like a jack of all trades master of none.  19" handle makes leverage, chopping etc a lot better too

For reference this is a 'crate tool'

Its also has a slightly bigger brother the HRT with 21" handle

So anyone got one of these?

That's a nice tool, looks like it could come in handy on a 4x4 trip.
Rest is not idleness,
and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer's day,
listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky,
is by no means a waste of time

No kidding, I kinda want one to keep in my truck now. Clearing away brush, hammering bent parts back into shape, it does it all!

  • Wooooo!
That is pretty cool.  I wouldn't mind having one of those to store in both of my vehicles.

zeCurator Sparks: I imagine you want the tomahawk junior more from a collectors stand point.

50ft-trad: you will be waiting years for me I think, $50 i'd pay but it can be two and half times that to get ir posted from USA -> Australia. More likely one of usa brethren will own and review one :)

That looks very cool!  :tu:

I saw the new Gerber Downrange Tomahawk http://www.gerbergear.com/Tactical/Gear/Downrange-Tomahawk_30-000792

I think it looks awesome but is way outside any money that I would pay.

Wow, never heard of that Downrange Tomahawk. Looks really well designed actually, but alas, for the price I would rather just get the yellow guy instead.

I hate being IP filtered from products on Gerber Website!
Fortunately I know how to use proxy servers for such webpages.
Love the Downrange tomahawk, love the 1 piece design and the small spiel by gerber on youtube.
But would probably find a better use for 4+ Truckers friends in my Suzuki motor pool.

Been waiting for someone to comment on the truckers friends melee ability or the fact that its advertised a grappling hook as one of its features  :D

Santos,
I think I will shorten that to a really cool nickname....    ZeeQ  :gimme:

I like the idea of carrying one just in case you need a grappling hook, very Ninja  8)  8)

I love Amazon reviews  ::)
Almost every review of the Trucker's Friend is a complaint that the axe isn't razor sharp. It's an axe, not a razor blade, come on. Don't buy crap if you clearly don't even understand what it is and how it's supposed to work and be used.

I think most people feel that investing $50 grants them the ability to effortlessly slice through pig carcasses and trained soldiers after all Cold Steel promise this.

ZeeQ, I shall always refer to you thus as your vinegar rites have been quite inspirational. (actually now no longer have a use for bleach in my house)
