it's been a long week at work, but today my project hit a major milestone... those both sound like good excuses reasons for a nice dram (or two) of single malt Scotch tonight.  :D

No, I haven't. Do you just add the syrup to the beer? If so, how much?

Wished it was that simple. I was thinking of beer where the brewers used elderberry flowers as a spice along with the hops. Very incompatible with the German Reinheitsgebot. :)

I'll ask my friend if he can make me some. :D He's working on his PhD in the field of beer brewing and he did something similar with sour cherries already.

Oh, and btw, Ebulum from Williams Bros (Scottish brewery) is the best beer with elderberries I have tasted. It's great with strong flavoured meat, like pinnekjøtt.

A cold can of Red Stripe. Saw some in the local shop a couple of weeks back and I hadn't had any for about 20 years so I thought I'd give it a whirl, and I've being having the odd one of an evening ever since

I just came from a wine bar. Red 3 Cotes (Cabernet/ Syrah), then Samos Vin Doux and finally Chios Masticha. Nice!

I was there last month and brought a 12 pack home for me, the kids and there friends. Tasty stuff there :tu:

Tonight, it's Jack Daniel's Single Barrel that I bought from the distillery in Lynchburg. The funny thing about that is the county that Lynchburg is in is a dry county. So, they sell you the bottle at the "bottle shop" in the visitor center. The bottle has the liquor in it. Technicalities

Last night I was a few miles up the motorway at a friends for tea and a couple of bottles of Tuborg, then out to an open mike night (a club where folks take along instruments and take turns to get up and play/sing) where I was steadily working my way through all the real ales on offer and helping them along with several Glenmorangies .... I felt a little delicate this morning

Tonight though it's just another can of Red Stripe, though I might be tempted to knock up a little night cap from the drinks cabinet later
