Review of the Leatherman Surge
« on: July 06, 2013, 11:23:29 PM »
Wave on steroids, yes the surge,i was never really interested in this mt but after years of wave use and trying out larger mt's I finnaly got hold of one,my first impression was  :o this thing is huge, but over time it's proved itself while being my companion on my maintenance job,my main like for this mt isits appearance as reminds me of my old wave,i'm a big fan of lm's bit adapter as love making mods for it, another handy feature is the blade exchanger as carry other saw options, all in all this is one solid hulk of a mt ok not a lightweight but there's plenty of options in that market, yes the sog powerlock and st300 are great solid mt's but if like me you started with a original wave you will appreciate the oho design, plus scissors that iike as much as the original waves scissors :D

Good review. I am a big fan of the Surge it was my first LM. I got mine for Christmas right after they came out. I still have it to this day. I have since gotten many more. But my Surge has a special place in my heart.

Its one great solid mt  :tu: for me the original wave was my first mt so the surge has a similar style but much bigger, here in the uk i can legally carry my wave daily so its nice to wear tye surge on my belt doing my maintenance job  :tu: for a work mt i like to be able to chance saw blades and add my bit adapter mods ,big thumbs up for the big surge  :salute:

I love this Multi-Tool.  I thought it was a little big to carry at first but then I realized that pocket clip that came with my Charge TTI fits on it.... man that makes a huge difference, keeps it tucked against your leg and you hardly notice it's there.  it's such a capable tool that if you are doing anything outside of the house you should have it.  Like many people have said it has a similar feel to the wave so it's easy to adapt to.  Oh and the scissors ROCK.

I'll probably do a full YouTube review on this thing compared to the super tool 300 which it blows out of the water.
