New jacket on the way.
on: July 28, 2013, 02:20:51 PM
I finally pulled the trigger on a Barbour wax jacket, in a style I have been wanting for years. 8)

http://www.barbourjacketsalesonlineuk.com/mens-barbour-international-75th-anniversary-waxed-jacket-olive-p-117.html

I already own a few wax jackets/coats, but not a Barbour (the kings of wax) and not in this traditional motorbike style.  Very much looking forward to getting my hands on this, even if the weather at the moment isn't really conducive to wearing a heavy jacket.

Good price.  That style does nothing for my husky build.  I will stick to my walking tent drizabone.

I likes, only thing I don't like is the belt, just not my thing,, I do how ever like how the upper pocket is turned to make it easier access for the other arm! But shouldn't it be the other way around? Cause isn't the throttle on the right, so in order to do anything you gotta slow down? Idk, I've never driven one, always wanted to, but just never gotten to. JR

Beautiful!

Sadly, only the horsey crowd wear Barbour's in the US :(  Hence the shops only carry riding jackets.

AFAIK this is a new version of teh sixdays jacket. The pocket is angled so you could get your stamping/time card out at teh Checkpoints quickly. (Sixdays were week long cross country / enduro trials back in the 50s-late 70s)

....and it's a fake. ::)  Not actually a bad jacket, but definitely not a real Barbour.  E-mail sent to the company but I'll not hold my breath.

Really?

If they don't respond, tell them you'll report them to the customs office. I think there are some serious fines for selling fakes of trade maked goods. Not sure how that's regulated in the UK but there's probably some similar buyer protection service.

No way Man, unlucky :-X
If the waxed cotton is decent quality then its worth what you paid for it...you could take the Barbour patch of if you wanted ;)
