SOG Cross Cat???
on: July 27, 2013, 10:31:08 AM

I just bought a SOG Crosscut from ebay. I was however a little surprised when I opened the package and found a box labeled SOG Cross Cat. (se picture below)
The tool it self looks like the real deal with SOG staps and pat number, and its nice and tight.
Has anyone else experienced this? Have I bought a fake or is it just a printing error on the boxes?

I have a couple of these too. I believe it is the current, real (made-in-China) deal.  The printing error probably didn't get noticed when production was transferred from the US to China.

So it doesn't have any feline-grooming specific implements, such as... Whisker trimmer? Brush? Hairball medicine despenser?

Maybe if you teased a feline with one of these SOGs it could get slightly annoyed ?

Heh-heh, that's actually pretty funny :D I agree with Greg, that's definitely the genuine (current model) Crosscut. :salute: Mine came in a blister pack which had the correct spelling.

SOG president Spencer Frazer when someone told him about the Cross Cat spelling error  ---->

If SOG works like some other companies I know, they get the tool and boxes separately bulk packed, and put them together state side. So essentially somebody in US folded the box, put the tool inside, and it passed QC with cross cat plastered on the side.  :D

Now what they SHOULD have done was simply come up with an entirely new tool and name it the Cross Cat, and then use those boxes to ship it in. :salute:
